Do you know if this is the same with TCY draft classes imported into 2k7?
    Is this a TCY class?

No clue about those. All I know is that the feature doesn't work all that well. I don't know the specifics, though. Take everything I told you with a *huge* caveat. I didn't realize that.

I would hope that Jim coded the game so that the general breakdown would be the same. All the combine scores are generated in some fashion and I would assume that he could code everything such that the player potential breakdowns fall out the same way.

i got no prob cutting Lundquist in Year 3 if he degrades too much. i don't think he will - he's rated 85 by my scout and guys just don't fall apart in FOF after a certain age like they do in OOTP. for a team rated in the bottom 5 for run defense i needed to make an investment to my front 4. worse comes to worse i cut him in Year 3 and only get a $3million hit to my salary cap.

this is without a doubt the greatest team i've ever assembled in any MP or solo league. i haven't ever had this much talent. sure, my FOF2 Cleveland Browns teams with Dean Houston were dominant, but those were teams built around one man. the 2010 California Heroes are a complete team, an assembly of dominant players. we put the ass in assembly of dominant players.

we're still not done. i was actually going for that TE Huggins who wasn't looking for a contract to break the bank. shoulda just manned up and signed him. still, i don't want my TE taking catches away from my dominant WRs, which is why i'm content to just roll with my current TE Eddington.

say what you want about cohesion (and our lack thereof), but at some point if it was all about cohesion then you could save a lot of money just signing mediocre/average players and keeping them together forever. at the end of the day talent trumps cohesion.

The 2010 California Heroes are talented.
I wouldnt be surprised if he retired or got hurt in those three years.

I just checked. The talent pools are very, very different, at least on the surface (and almost certainly under the hood as well). By the scoring system I use, the IFL draft class has 123 players rated at what I consider (for game-generated) first or second round talent. Compare that to seven other draft classes generated by FOF2K7:

              2015FOFL: 58
              2014IHOF: 52
              2007WOOF: 40
              random SP season1: 51
              random SP season2: 44
              random SP season3: 64
              random SP season4: 48

So yeah, we're talking about a completely different scale of talent. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but basically everyone should just ignore the parts of my posts that deal with league talent level. I was trying to be helpful with the conversion, but I should have just kept my mouth shut on that aspect.

That actually works out really well for us, because we had a large amount of talent available in the initial draft, so hopefully we won't be seeing every good player on a team be 40 years old.

What you said about the masking though I have definitely seen. Player ratings are almost useless by themselves (with no historical data) for the first couple years.

Crap... The last thing I want to see is more talent in the league, I really like 2k7's distribution of talent.

But, it would be interesting to see if we have more busts then to compensate? Does the % breakdown in type of player (superstar, star, etc) take place at player generation, or does it happen later?

Based on FOF2K4, my *guess* would be at player generation. I'm in two leagues that used the HeavyReign fictional player generator, which gives too much talent (sounds like y'all used it too), and in neither case has there been a "correction" of talent as the league has gone on. Look at the year 11 players in IHOF in particular (the original rookie class from the HR utility). There's still an insane amount of talent in that group.

Yeah, because of the talent difference between an FOF2K4 league generated with the HR utility and the FOF2K7 draft classes, I just completely traded out of the first two IHOF drafts with the new game. I wish that there would have been a way to gradually change the talent levels, but oh well.

I might've overpaid but I got my two RTs back in the fold. Henry Gilmore really surprised me since he's had a negative attitude for many seasons now.

Not as tight in Little Rock as it has been the last three seasons, cap wise. Very nice. No big names coming to town this year though, not in free agency atleast. Already sitting at 45 guys. The draft may be the only new guys to watch, though some upgrades to role guys would be nice.

My export for tomorrow is in, off to Illinois in the morning though and not sure when I will get home. Hope to be home by Saturday.
