  • Guys will always have the chance to manually draft players for seven rounds. That will never change as long as I'm in charge.

      • I'm torn.. I think the draft is taking too long, but at the same time I don't want to not be able to pick who I want in later rounds.

I can't think of any other ways to speed things up than to lower the time-limits, but I know that will piss some people off..

What I'd like to point out though is that the draft is every 3-4 months.. when it's this time of the season, people should make an effort to check in as often as possible. I'm probably extreme, but I've twice made my picks in the middle of the night my time..

        • As slow as the draft has been this year, we've only had 2 teams miss picks. I don't think we're doing too bad. I think people are used to finishing the draft in 4 days.

Yeah, it's not that bad. I will have to push things back a day though if we don't finish by Tuesday morning.

IFL draft would be awesome if it was 4 days. one day for each of the 1st 3 rounds, and one last day for the final 4 rounds.
I'm going to have at least four players on my team who were drafted in the 4th or later rounds play a major part on my team:
                • Backup RB [ifl]Thurman Richardson[/ifl]
                  Backup T [ifl]Victor Levine[/ifl]
                  Backup TE [ifl]Carl Hylton[/ifl]
                  Starting DE KC Cajigal

...Plus whoever I might pick up this year. Besides, we still need to have time for the FA stages, so the draft doesn't take up much time at all.

                    • Have to admit the Mules have been more productive in 1-3 than later, but that is too be expected.

RT Ziemak is the only quality player the Mules have mined from rounds 4 and on. Other significant Mules backup TE Rivero, backup DT Andrews, backup safety Heath and Fire backup QB mentor Reeves that is if you are not counting FB Tyler, QB Stouffel and K Dawson from this years draft cause they are all three sure fire can't miss prospects.

Looks like the Mules are the only team done with the draft :P

                      • Did you know: QB John Cavazos is the youngest player on my roster by 4 years 8 months and 5 days. Which means he might be in his fourth year and still be the youngest on the team. I have no idea if that really makes any difference or not. For example, Butch Anderson is 30 this year. Floyd Raines is 33. And they are both only in their 6th seasons. Will they decline faster?

                          • Let's see, we were both targeting the same positions or people in the first round (dline), second round (C), and third round (Cavazos), will Warhammer take my player again here in the fourth round?

                            • I don't know. I don't have a ton of holes to fill, the only one that I filled was Dowdell, and my other needs (young WR and young NT) aren't going to be filled this draft.

I can't thank you enough for this!

If any GMs want to set their list then by all means do so and then just accept that you'll have no necessary IFL input other than free agency for a couple of days and don't check in. For the rest of us that want to pick players that fit our team instead of auto-picking by overall value the current system (now proven to work through many seasons) gives us the chance to do so.
