I like the idea of 3 double weeks. I know i personally hate it when i have a bye in this league. Going two weeks without a sim for me is too long. With 3 double weeks i have a better chance of that not happening.

I agree with Houston. It would be cool to do a few double weeks during the bye week period. But personally I really like the once a week thing. It really does make this league stand out more. You get time to really enjoy your team, study your opposition, and be active.

While I would have no issue with 2 games a week. I just really enjoy the 1 game a week setup better.

I like the one game a week format. . .but I don't mind a two game week every onece in a while. 4 seems high, I dunno. 2-3 have always been pretty good, adding an extra in the playoffs would speed things up for those not in.

Hate to say it, but I'm in full agreement.

i think i'd like this too.

the difference between IFL and IHOF (which i was a member of) isn't that much - i'd say IFL has probably more overall owners who post. it's just that in IHOF (which has its share of silent owners who post once every 3 months) has a lot of owners who post A LOT. makes it seem like there's a lot more going on than there really is. they also have a more robust media than ours, but by and large the gap between IFL and IHOF isn't that wide. i don't know all the owners in this league yet, but of the ones i see regularly i see them quite often. all you need for a league to survive is about 10 active owners, then a handful of guys who post like once a week or so and then the rest will obviously be near non-existent.

anyway, i don't have a prob w/ occassional 2 game weeks, might be nice to have something different to look forward to at various points throughout the season.

I have too many teams, so I don't mind the once a week format here. I'd gladly go for more, but I don't see any overwhelming need to change.

One of the nice things I've noticed about this league is how everyone is very much in tune with not only their own teams, which should always be the case, but the entire league in general. I think that has a lot to do with the format. Sometimes games blow by so fast you don't have time to sit back and get a good overall feel for the season in general.

Besides, Jeff says he has some ideas for the web site and I think having a full week between games gives he and Suicane time to do stuff with it, and other people time to help out, too. I'd like to do more write ups and stuff and I'm a coder, too, so maybe I could do more once my schedule evens out a bit. I'm seriously considering building a new web-based game log viewer using some javascript, ajax and PHP. I might be able to get away with allocating time for it since my company might start doing them for real college games. Which would freaking rock.

I love the ambition! I wish I had the ability to do this kind of stuff. Have you checked out that guy on FOFC's web viewer?

We're going to roll with the schedule I posted (3 double-weeks). It'll be posted somewhere better soon.

After the season we'll take feedback and change if necessary.

I don't know which is cooler: The fact that you're thinking of making the viewer or the the fact that you work for a company doing something simalar for real college football.

I am in total support of these changes.

I am 100% behind 3 double-game weeks. 4 I am a little iffy on but have no huge problem with it.

As for changing it from being done in 4 days to splitting it up I am all for that. The only reason I ever had it all together was so I didn't have to ask someone else to run more then 1 stage if possible. Otherwise, with me out of the picture having a game on Wednesday or so is much better for guys I think.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

I probably wasn't against the notion as much as I thought the "crew" would be the first time so let me restate my original statement: "I'm scared as shit of any change in the IFL for the simple reason of: I believe we've got a great league and shouldn't fuck with the norm."
