Being that my memory sucks (or is nonexistant. I can't remember which) I don't remember seasons past with clarity but haven't we started off with at least a couple of picks early in all the past drafts? That's the only thing that has me worried that we might run a little over the time alotted. I feel like I remember us starting early and still taking multiple days (after the official start of the draft) for round 1 last season.

I do see trades being processed quicker this season once we get out of the top 5 though due to teams without a pick (or high enough pick) easily recognizing the value of moving up in/into this draft and being willing to pay it quickly and get a deal done before a bidding war errupts.
Up until last season, we have had some of the faster MP drafts around. We had a couple of drafts in a row that finished in 4.5 days or so. That was one reason last year I listened to guys who wanted it to slow down some.

Last season's draft felt somewhat slow after the previous season's, and I was worried like hell the first couple days about time. In the end it proved to be no big deal though and we finished with plenty of time to spare.

We will have plenty of time this season, too. I am more relaxed about it now. I no longer want to be the fastest drafting league.

As soon as that first "wow, 20 picks just got made in 2 minutes" burst happens, we'll all be fine.

The other problem that the top 3 teams have is with all the talent at a few positions, no one has to move WAY up to get just one guy. There are 3 or 4 guys at the strong positions, so it makes more sense to wait.

Personally, I would love to get another late first or early second in this draft.

            2006 3rd Place AC East 7-9 2008 2nd Place AC East 9-7

I tell ya, I love my team, but I hate having nothing to do for the first 2 days or any decisions to make.

Am I the only one that thinks Ray Rodriguez is a notch above the other potential draftees? True, it's a very deep draft but IMO there is still a clear-cut #1 and the only way to get that #1 was/is through WV. Of course I can't see Luis' inbox but I'd expect he'd be getting a lot of action from teams in the top 10 that need an OT regardless of all the DT's, DEs, etc. in this draft.

Well, I guess I agree. If there was only one or two good DT's, then you could make an arguement. But with that many good DT's, I think trading up to #1 for one would be a little bit of a reach. If you really loved the guy then ok fine, but I wouldn't trade up for a DT at this point.

Agreed, Rodriguez is the clear cut #1. All the other players after that are a wash. I have about 10 guys I would be absolutely thrilled to have, and that is discounting the fact that there are several studs in the draft that I already have positions on the team filled.

Wow, I feel a bit embarrased. ops:

Ok, anyone annoyed with Luis not making his pick can stop. It just clicked that the guy has his utility turned on. I think he meant to have it pick for him when 'the draft started' at 6 am this morning. The utility didn't do that though, probably because of it being the first pick.

I would go ahead and pick for him right now, but at this point in time I might as well wait these last few minutes.
