      WOW!

Portland took you to the cleaners. Your LT you traded is just as good as Stickney. Been drinking tonight Jave??

Is this trade even fair? can we get a competition board ruleing on this? I mean I like to see Jave screw himself over as much as the next guy but jesus. a small to moderate upgrade at LT (trading a 61 for a 90) and giving up a Stud CB and a 1st round draft pick for it? seriously? The LT and the 1st rounder MINUS the stud CB shoulda been more then enough to get this deal done. Okay thats all from me. This just baffles me. Jave you no longer have a right to bring up other peoples "bad" trades. this one takes the cake. Worst ever trade in IFL history imho.

              P.S.

              You have officially Fleeced yourself.

Other teams don't beat you Jave. You beat yourself in this game. What happened to the only way you win in this league is with QB/WR/WR??

Stickney for Erbaugh is a wash. I don't care what ratings difference there is between the two. Erbaugh is a pretty decent LT.

Then you throw in a 80 rated CB and a 1st round pick next year (which will probably be a top 10). You had to be the one that offered that trade. No way Portland could even fathom asking for that package. You threw it out there and he pounced. LOL

Worst trade in IFL history i agree DG.

I am so glad this is being talked about. I didnt want to be the first one to bitch.

This essentially seems to be an upgrade at LT (not an ENORMOUS one , if you look at the stats over the last few years) for an all-league CB, a SLIGHTLY 'not QUITE as good' LT and a 1st round pick.

That would be an LT worth 2 Firsts
                  for
                  A CB worth 2 Firsts
                  An LT worth 1 First
                  And 1 First.

For a slight upgrade at LT.

I don't get it, but it's not my team.

------This is not personal at all Jave, and I feel bad even writing it. You are a good guy, I swear. But I am sorry to admit that I fall into the camp of the previous posters. Please do not take this as a personal attack.-----

Could've gotten a late 1st for the CB, so you traded basically 2 1sts to move from 61 to 92 at LT.

I think this trade falls under "questionable" as far as the uneven amount of talent changing hands. Possibly should go up for review

No offense Jave, but you should really consult with someone before agreeing to stuff like this.

                      Thanks Jeff!

As to the other responses. Everyone is entitled their opinion. I wanted Stickney, I made an offer that was competitive and got the trade done. I think it's funny how last season when I put Farley on the trading block 5 out of the 6 responses I got were 3rd and 4th round pck offers. People were concerned about his age+cost and said even offering a second was a stretch. Now people think he's worth two 1sts?
The other thing people arn't looking at is cap space. I free up 22 million with this trade, allowing me to resign Donovan/Doyle and Wilson, the very heart of my team and upgrade my offensive line adding Stickney. I don't have a QB/WR/WR, so I'm making my strength, stronger allowing Wilson another running lane and protecting Donovans blind side.

There's nothing unbalanced about this trade. A player is worth what someone will pay for him. Some will say I gave up to much, that's fine. It was mine to offer. For the offense I run, I wanted someone stronger then Erbaugh so I went out and got him. This is much ado about nothing.

while I think Jave gave up a lot at first glance, it's really a matter of opinion. The only time I would not allow a trade is when I believe there is some sort of collusion.

From a talent perspective, I believe Jave gave up too much.

That said when you get inside Jave's head and think things through a little,

-I can only imagine what Donovan wants for an extension.
                          -Jave has never liked Erbaugh
-Stickney is good. real good. his numbers are what they are, but let's see what he does in Oakland (see Irwin Kao for the Bulldogs)
-Farley IS in his 9th year. I don't know how many people would give up 2 1sts for him.

the kicker here is the additional 1st. That is the thing that throws it over the top for me. Well, that and he needs to still sign Stickney long term. While I wouldn't have done this, this is sort of how Jave runs Oakland. trades top players for top players.

Wow. We actually have our very own Al Davis.

It looks like this is going to stick. In that case, my hats off to Jeffrey. Executive of the year, in the early running.
