Will Cali-forn-ia ever make the playoffs? I bet Boston gets to the playoffs before ye, not to mention Tulsa. LOL...enough already HA everyone knows your lack comprehension and GM skills. Quit pickin on old Tarcone personally I think McKenzie is one and done but if it gets Tulsa to the playoffs then its a good move for him. Tulsa is a team on the rise unlike yours "which was a team" on the rise a couple of years ago till the Corralla debacle...hahahaha.

            1. That league is only in its first year, for Christ's sake. A draft has not even occured and all teams were inherited. The teams were composed of this year's NFL's rosters.

            2. You picked the defending champs, NY Giants - Eli and all. I came in late and was so lucky to get the second to last team left - Buffalo - a real powerhouse.

            3. At the beginning of the season, Buffalo had the lowest rating in the power ratings (and FYI, I only took the team as a research project to see how long it would take to build a bottom feeder to a contender)

            4. The Bills were the most active in the preseason and I am starting eleven rookies. Buffalo's power rating has risen 12 spots in the power ratings since the season began.

For the cards that were dealt, I am comfortable with that direction and feel confident that the plan is on the right road for the future. I never for one had thoughts of the playoffs this year. In fact, my goal was to win at least one game since I was starting 11 rookies. I have now won 4 and you have won 6.

I have never taken any pot shots at how you manage or approach game strategy. I for one think that you are very dedicated. Sorry, but this was a bit off base.
exactly. so the moral of the story is when we start out with good teams, we do good. when we start out with bad teams it takes longer. the NY Giants aren't based off of the 2007 championship team. its based off of the ratings of the previous year.

its no secret - the good teams in this league have been able to keep the good guys they got the 1st year this league started the longest. you got Lozier, and who did Fresno have at QB when i took over?

Really, It comes down to this: I prize Excellent cornerbacks and I think this stud will last at least 3 seasons. He accelerates my progression. 2 future 2nds and an average cornerback for a pro bowl cornerback? I take that any day.

Mules had 3 above avg CB prior to the trade anyways. McKenzie, Mangrum and Fairley plus a couple of vets. Safety now that was a constant issue - lol

That is a pretty weak argument Hell. You didn't get the short stick because of Lozier, I never understand why you're so mad. Rook is a game-planner unlike you, it never has anything to do with the Random number. When I had a good team we always battled for the afc, you cant ever say you battled your just all talk.

why did the original Fresno owner leave? cuz he probably didn't get many good guys out of that inaugural draft. it's just a snowball effect that takes years to overcome. the fortunate thing is we're entering the part of the league where all of the top guys that were taken in the inaugural draft are entering the "past their prime" stage of their careers, and in about 3 or so seasons a changing of the guard effect should happen. i've been playing this game longer than many of you, so its not like i don't know what i'm doing. it's just funny how the guys who've been in the league the longest are also the guys who got good teams to start with, i think when i took over the Fresno franchise it had a swinging door of owners if i'm not mistaken. the team has had only one winning season in its existence, which happened under my watch. 1 winning season out of 10 - that's not even realistic, that doesn't happen in real life.

the problem is unlike real life there isn't much movement in the standings in this league. there's supposed to be an ebb and flow to teams. some years you're on top, other years you're on the bottom. but in IFL the same fucking teams have been winning since the beginning - NFK, STL, Little Rock. in real life players ask for more money than you're willing to give, so they become FAs. here, teams that got great players in the inaugural draft have kept them forever, increasing cohesion and never letting good players go to other teams. it's partly due to the game - players should want to become FAs, like in OOTP where the players will simply stop negotiating with you. but still, it comes down to starting off on a good foot and never looking back. everyone else who wasn't quite as fortunate to get guys worth keeping has to play catch up after that.

The inaugural draft carried some teams for the first 6 seasons or so but we're now going into our 10th season.

Where does Kozure and the Beasts fit into your theory? The Beasts were great... sucked ass for a long time... and are already looking good/great again.

The 2003 draft was manually selected for the first 11 rounds. Is it not reasonable that the people that knew how to draft a good football team in June of 2004 haven't lost any of that knowledge?

The only guaranteed ebb and flow is with draft picks and if you bust at 1.1 and someone else hits at 1.32 well then you just saw your ebb and flow advantage go the other way on you.

You've grabbed plenty of talent (as far as your precious player "OVR" goes anyway) on the Heroes since you've been in the league and yet haven't won. Why? Cohesion from 2003? Oops. "Hi Reno can I have my QB back?"

                      ********

Congrats on your great CB, tarcone, and good luck with your draft picks, Tuffy. :dancemonkey:
