why? why give players guaranteed signing bonuses when i can aquire them from other teams who'll pick up the tab? then, when a major injury occurs and leaves them a shell of themselves i can cut them easily. i made one trade where i ate a lot of bonus - moving Bucky Beaver for Larry Deason - and that's the last time that'll happen. and it's not true you don't give up anything when you aquire FAs - you give up signing bonuses. and you assume you have the pick of the litter in free agnecy, as if you're the only guy trying to get players.

and again, what major impact guys have you aquired in free agency the last 3 seasons? i'm talking household, league-known names. i only know of 2 trades you've made, one where i gave you William Lor and i got Ingraham in return, and the other is when you were desperate for a WR and you aquired Gaston Williams. other than that i can't think of a time when i said "you know, that Jeff really increased the overall quality of his team with that pickup". you should resign as GM and come work for me as my gameplanner.

I think I've said this before but it seems that you really enjoy giving the public (often negative---almost deal-deterring) play-by-play of any move I make in free agency. What's up with that?

Please. I haven't even shared a single opinion about this trade.

I retract my post and stand in solidarity with brother HA's last paragragh. Jeff, GM to GM I say "get off the nuts", GM to Commish, I ask that you consider how your public position on a matter can affect the actions of others before posting your opinions in affairs of this nature.

He added to his roster the break-out player of the year and the 9th best future rated DE in the league, along with a number of quality role players. That's not a bad off-season. And the proof is in the final results: Jeff took over a .500 team and made it a 14-2 team. You took over a .500 team and have gone 13-18-1 while trading away all of your draft picks. I think it's a little over the top to suggest that he should resign and come work for you.
