I'm confused, because the Sims trade should have created more than enough space...And I see he didn't move either.

Hmmm...so how does this work? I see Sims is still with us because Newark's cap space is way over the top. Are all trades binding, or at what point do trades become null and void based on a team's inability to meet cap expectations. Without Sims' contract gone it will make re-negotiations with my veterans near impossible. Grrrr.

I wonder if there should be a rule about this, and I say this as a person in Newark's shoes right now in my Murf trade.

If guys are dumping players to get under the cap, and have to wait for other guys to get under the cap, should there be a period where the trade is void?

I say this with no disrespect to Matt, as like I said, i'm in his shoes in another trade and would like to cut enough cash by next sim so Murf can dump the salary on me.

This rule should obviously have a lot of thought put into it, so I wouldn't expect an overnight decision, but possibly something for next season so we know heading into the off-season we should be weary of making trades with people deep over the cap if we're desperate to cut the guys salary.
