With their first round pick, the Arizona Wolfpack select LG, Dan "The Tan" Tanyavutti from Notre Dame. With "The U" Uusatalo's retirement, the Wolfpack need to begin to rebuild the Offensive line. Last year's 2nd round pick, RG, Neil O'Rourke was a pleasant surprise in his rookie season. LT Alvin Schmidt was lost to London in FA, so the Wolfpack picked up Carlton Finney, a FA from Texas. This group was decimated by injuries last year and depth was a real issue. Look for Arizona to continue to add players in the draft or late FA.

With their second pick in the 2030 draft, the Wolfpack selected QB, Douglas Crane out of Alabama. May is in a renegotiation year, and the Wolfpack are starting to look toward the future if May does not re-sign. Crane will have plenty of time to develop. Arizona brought in QB, Vernon Arriola, to mentor the young QB. With so many options and needs at the end of the round, it is a very interesting pick. One can only wonder if this motivates May, or becomes a distraction to the team.



The Wolfpack also considered drafting TE, Hemstreet and move him to FB, but it looks like they will be moving Bingaman instead. WR, Garrett Coffey was also a consideration with Arizona having a difficult time re-signing Urlacher and Angus.

After waiting 2 rounds, with no picks in the 3rd and 4th that were given up to get FS, Olin, last year, the Wolfpack again went offense over defense. Running Back, Bubba Codina out of Northern Illinois was selected in the 5th round for his pass catching ability out of the backfield and special teams play. He also is a smart runner, patient with blocks and allowing holes to open up. Lang is going into a contract year and is rumored to be asking about 4x his current salary. Arizona may be starting to really look to the future.



Arizona still has holes at starting FB, 5th WR, backup C/G, backup DE, starting RDT, backup LB, starting CB, and backup S. That's a lot of unfilled needs.
