Quentin Habich, in his first year as coach of the Carolina Catfish, has lead his team in clinching the NC West Division for the first time in over 10 years. Habich, a former player for the Reno/Carolina franchise, was hired after a disappointing 7-9 season last year under Kurt Silvanic.
"Its a huge accomplishment..." said Habich in an interview after their win at Fresno this week, "...but we're not done. We can't just be happy to be here. Our goal is the Championship and we've got a game next week at Salt Lake that means something to us."
Carolina could actually get a first round bye with a win at Salt Lake and a Newark loss based on their win back in week 9 against the Bulldogs.
Carolina has not won a playoff game since 2015 and the last time they clinched the NC West was 2014 where they were squashed by the Texas Trojans in their first playoff game.
