  • Renegades Rumored To Be Firing GM

Houston (AP) - Coming off the heels of a 4 game losing streak, there have been rumors in Houston of a GM change this off-season. The ownership group, which is fronted by former Renegades star QB Nigel Booker refused to comment, but multiple sources have confirmed the rumor. Booker, backed by a group of investors purchased the Renegades in 2019 after years of losing money forced H.E. Pennypacker to sell the team he has owned since 1996.

Booker fell in love with Houston after GM Steve Beans traded for him before the 2008 season and lead to the team to their first ever playoff appearance that season. While Booker has been patient with Beans, he has a strong desire to win and made a pledge that his group was going to bring a championship to Houston during his time.

Steve Beans has had relative success in the drafting department over his time with the team, including the current all-time sack lead Phil Miller. However, he has never been able to put together a consistent, competent coaching staff that properly gameplans and puts together long winning streaks. Fans complain that the Renegades generally enter games with more talent, but end up in the loss column due to being outcoached.

Booker was heard slamming things around his office after back to back close losses while in a very winnable division. While some fans feel he's unfairly blaming Steve Beans, the two have never really gotten along real well while he was a player, and now that roles are reversed, Booker may also be looking for revenge.

Multiple sources confirm that if the Renegades fail to make the playoffs this season, it will not be surprising to see the entire front office replaced.

Summer slowdown combined with the loss of yourself.

Hang in there you'll turn it around with a couple of more pieces. Build through the draft!

I noticed that too Jave, it seems like there's been less banter and more angst. Hopefully JB is right about the summer slowdown and now that football season is starting, interest will ramp up. After all, everyone is excited about Peyton coming to the Broncos, right?!
