    IFL Training Camps open Today
The good times are over for the IFL players and coaches. Today is the day the IFL welcomes everyone into training camp as we prepare for the 2018 season. While a lot of reporter's are clamoring to Wichita for the first time in years to get a glimpse of Danny Oulette, HBO will take their film crew to Montreal Quebec to give us an inside look at the Firebirds camp in this years edition of Hard Knocks.
A couple of interesting story lines follow us into the season. Sources close to the situation have informed us of some potential training camp holdouts. Star QB Dennis Colella's rep's have told us that he looking for another contract before he shows in Anchorage. Colella's reps have told us they've been after a new contract with the Lynx since being traded from Reno 2yrs ago. Colella is not happy with the current arrangement. He's looking to play out 1 more contract before calling his career quits. Houston Renegades T Nathan Adcock is in the same boat as Colella. Adcock was acquired via trade from West Virginia in 2015 and saw his contract expire at the end of last season. The Renegades have franchised the long time starter and are trying to work with Adcock's agents to firm up a long term deal. Sources close to us have told us that Houston is wary of giving out a big signing bonus becuase of the commitment it carries.

The most intruiging situation is in Lawrence. TE Dan Alcott is very upset with the Phantoms organization after being slapped with the franchise tag for the 2nd straight year. Alcott, while content, is telling people close to him that he will not sign a long term deal with Lawrence and is looking for a new home elsewhere. He has requsted a trade because he does not feel that Lawrence has treated him right.

Any other big stories around the league at your training camp??

In Newark we don't know exactly what to expect. The class of 2018 was unspectacular so the chances of any of the new kids to be long term Bulldogs may be a long shot. The real story lies with the vets. This is the same Bulldog team that was 1 win away from the big game. The big question is what will the vets look like coming into Newark and how much have their skills diminished. Nothing too exciting going on in Newark this year. Here's to hoping the grim reaper doesn't visit New Jersey

Sadly, rumor has it that Dan Alcott is fraternizing with the Fresno organization while Lawrence scrambles to make nicey-nice of the Franchise Tag situation. Coming off a 6-10 season having already lost Monty Wollmuth and with no impact rookies of notice the Phantoms can ill afford to lose another star player heading into this season.

Tulsa Vets are curious to see how new coach CJ Gunn runs camp. After years of light work on the field and heavy work at the pool and in the bar, the vets want to see where camp will go. Rumors are the defense will get intensive work. DH Singleton has been seen in Coach Gunns office alot this year. Rumors are he is pushing for more run blocking work for the offensive line. With the career rushing yards record in DH sights, he wants all the helop he can get.
        More stories to come.

Here in Madison, HC Schneider is stressing a more physical TC this year. No more country club atmosphere which the team has been used too the past few seasons. Schneider would like to see a little more toughness out of the team this year. The coach said, "Don't be surprised to see a lot of puking out there". I'm sure some of the older vets will be none too pleased with the coaches comments.

Bryan McNeil is looking over his shoulder this training camp with veteran QB's Jerry Patterson and Alvin Mann in camp. Coach Delap has stated that it is open competition for the starting job. Patterson and McNeil are both in contract years and Mann has another year on his contract.

The F-Birds are honored to allow unprecedented access for the Hard Knocks cameras this offseason. Finally, the rest of the football world will get a glimpse at the talent.. or lack thereof.. of last years cinderella team.

I see Newark got Maxwell --- you're going to be very surprised with him. He plays way above that 33/33 rating!
