Tulsa GM Tarcone has released information on the acquisition of Center Harry Sanders from Anchorage.
Tarcone said "We are extremely pleased to bring Harry Sanders to Tulsa. With this acquisition and the signing of G Travis Atkins, we feel we have really strengthened our interior line. Sanders and Atkins bring great skills. We feel our offensive line is now one our biggest strengths."
Asked what the team plans were concerning long time starting center Ernest Poston, Tarcone stated "Ernest has been a tock in our lineup. But he is starting to get up there in age. When this opportunity presented itself, we had to make the deal. I called Ernest into the office before sending the trade into the league and talked to him about with Coach Poston (Ernests Uncle) and he was upset at first, but then realized that a championship season was on the horizon and really wants to be part of that and will do anything to make that happen. Ernest has been through the lean years and is a true professional."
Tarcone continued "We feel that this offensive line rivals any in the league and surpasses most. We hope that left tackle Louie Grier continues to develop and become a rock at that position. With guard Aaron Taxin and right tackle Brock Heath, look for Ken Singleton to have another outstanding year."
