With the college draft upcoming most IFL teams are hoping to add that missing piece or two to compete for the Imperial Bowl.
Not the Lawrence Phantoms.
The Phantoms, who own picks 1.11, 1.31 and 2.31 (along with others) are, according to owner/GM Jester Blaze, ready to go into the 2010 season as of now.
"My way of orchestrating a team is such that there is not much change from year to year. With that in mind it's easy to believe that any given year is 'our year' from a Phantom perspective. I've long said that and long been looked on as a fool. Time will tell how this season will play out but I've felt since that harsh, harsh Imperial Bowl loss that we were ready for 2010. We're returning everybody except Peacock. Count us deep into the playoffs right now!"
Knowing full well the draft picks the he held I pressed Mr. Blaze further, informing him that there are few, if any, GMs willing to sit on last years results: "Exactly. Each year builds on the previous and I've got draft picks to add some playmakers to our squad. We enjoyed some success last year and out of the 'top teams' we might just have the best player retention of the group. At the level we expect to play at in 2010 it's hard to count anything past the 2nd round as ready to contribute this [upcoming] season so holding two 1sts we feel real good. We expect to add another two "Dana Glover/R.J. Kley's" to our squad which I'm sure the rest of the NFC East will enjoy."
This Phantom Phan would do nothing less than shit himself, publicly if necessary, if Jester Blaze can get "Dana glover/R.J. Kley value" out of this draft but won't bet against the man who's brought us to the mountain top, if not over it.
PS - Where the fuck is Jimmy Somelove!?!??!!?
