FIRE ANNOUNCE NAME CHANGE - THE IS A NEW GENERAL IN TOWN

With the much anticipated move of the Fire franchise to Atlanta underway, team management felt that the team needed a new image as well as a new start in Georgia. After much consideration and after final approval from the commissioner’s office, the Columbia Fire will be renamed to the Georgia Generals in 2010. This trademark change will allow the team to better appeal to its new market and is looking forward to being recognized as "Georgia's Team". With the name change announcement the Generals front office also released the team’s new logos and uniforms to the public at a private practice session in Atlanta this morning, below you can see the team logo's and Uniforms for 2010.

Interesting choice, considering that the most famous General associated with Atlanta is General William Tecumseh Sherman...who burned it down.

I have to admit I really liked the Columbia Fire, but the Georgia Generals sure as hell rock too! Great choice!

I like the General's overall concept. The unis and helmet remind me too much of another team called the Fresno Chaos. Would have liked to see a confederate grey helmet in honor of the south. Maybe even the stars and bars somewhere in the concept.

Everything looks fine to me. Fresno Chaos? They don't even exist anymore. Gray isn't a good 3rd color unless it's used with black and white, so be careful with that.
