The game's power ratings are just an aggregate score based upon the roster/starter strength of a team. This is a shame because some teams/GMs save money by getting system players that perform very well in their scheme, but have poor overall ratings since they are situational players.

    2003 IFL AC East Runner-Up - Wildcard 10-6
    2004 IFL AC East Runner-UP - Wildcard - AC Runner-up 10-5-1
    2005 3rd Place AC East 6-10 2007 2nd Place AC East 8-8
    2006 3rd Place AC East 7-9 2008 2nd Place AC East 9-7
2009 1st Place AC East, Imperial Bowl Champions 13-3

Pfft, I improved at FB, TE, G, T (through a huge Grant boom), DT, DE (from a Pierce boom), and depth at CB+WR and only ranked 1 position ahead of where I finished last year. (and possibly worse, since the tie breakers put me at 25th instead of 23rd)

This is bulletin board material for Markel.

Who won that division last year?

It'd be cool to see the ratings that the three reviews gave each team. I'd be interested to see how big a spread there was between the lists.

The PR's are a combination of a list from 3 people, and there was varying degrees of disagreement on several of the teams. Here is the variance (higher numbers being more disagreement, 0 meaning that each voter had them in the same spot):

            Oakland 3.00
IF I were unbias, I would agree with the high degree of variance for Oakland. Tell ya the truth, I am more then a bit wary myself. Not because I don't believe we have the roster to compete for the IFL Bowl(BTW, can we FUCKING PLEASE, give this a sexier name? The IFL Bowl sounds like some competition between software developers on writing the most lines of code without an error!!!), but we have only been truly competitive for one season.
I honestly think we can be one of the top teams in the league this year, and I have very little worries about major injuries. However, my window is small. With Bice's new 70 million dollar contract, and Hamilton asking somewhere in the area of 77 million, some very good players will be traded or let go in the next 2 years.

My D+ was a bit of an unfair grade. Take into account the value I recieved for those trades, and then look at my draft situation. I did not have a pick untill the 4th round so I paid NO attention to the draft at the beginning. I came home from work and saw the fresh trade offer for the second round pick, I made an offer, never actually expecting to recieve it, and 2 minutes later, BAM, the pick was mine.
I no sooner traded the picks in the draft utility, and I recieved a tell stating I had to make the pick IMMEDIATLY or the pick would be made for me. So I basically had about 2 minutes to study the entire draft, my roster, and make a pick. I didn't do awful considering, although I kicked myself for not selecting a DT with that pick, but a D+???? For making 2 picks that DID fill holes in my roster.......

Nice work guys! I'm not going to agree or disagree because it is all speculation at this point. Well...let me be honest. I only posted this message so Suicane, Houston, and Kobeck could see my cool new banner!

No, we stay far away from them. I remeber last year my team was 9-7 and in second to last in the NFC in the game's rankings, behind Madison even who we beat twice during the season and were ahead of in the division by 3 or 4 games.
Starting to like the Whales. For all I know that 28th notch could be spot on, but most of our weakest starting spots are deep on the bench and should improve as the players there get more experience. Keeping them all happy will be kind of a challenge.

30 When all is said and done, Caro will go down as the better QB between him and Oakland's Hamilton.
Ok, now I have to draw the line. That is just insulting! First of all, some quarterbacks in this league just have IT, whatever, it is. They are born with the ability to win, and put teams on their backs to do whatever it takes. JC, Booker, Hamilton........just to name a few.
Second of all, Hamilton is surrounded by team players. This was not an accident. I have been building this team for 4 years with just this intention in mind. It's a complete insult to say the Caro will be better then Hamilton. Based on what? Caro has the skills, that is obvious, but Hamilton is in a whole other league then Caro. That, is obvious.

I can totally see how this happened though. Week 1 should give us a good indication of how 2007 might play out.

You're a bit wrong there. Hamilton does not have it, or he has not shown it yet. All he has done is shown that if the players around him are as good as he is, he can win. Jerome Mueller and Mulcahy are two players that have shown that they have it. They might not have the skills of better players, but they find ways to win games.

I agree, can we call it something else, like the 'Imperial Bowl' maybe? That change should be made immediately on the headline of the story on the front page.

Great previews. I really like the write up on the Renegades. I'll be honest though, I didn't realize the Cards were still as good as they are until I saw the rankings and write ups. Looking back over their lineup, and it's going to be a tough year to do anything if Markel doesn't have a great season for us.
