With quality cap management, you don't need to franchise anyone! :P

That's ridiculous. I'm franchising a guy who I no longer want on my team so I can trade him. What say you to this?
Well, if you knew you were going to trade him, you could have signed him to a better contract so that you wouldn't have to franchise him, or so sayeth my butt.

Huh??? I lose nothing by franchising him and trading him. In fact, Razo is already dealt. How would signing him to a "better contract" have helped at all?

My first comment was a smart ass comment since I am not franchising anyone this year.
My second comment was just some crap I threw up, hence the line "so sayeth my butt," also known as talking out of my ass...

This may be a stupid question, but I just traded for a franchised player. I don't lose my franchise tag, right?
The franchised player can't be added to your team until FA starts (after you select your franchise player), so you will definitely be able to franchise someone. I don't know if the game will allow you to add a franchised player to a roster with a franchised player on it already, but I have never heard of that happening.

I seem to recall previous tag and trades in the IFL. I don't know if the recieving team/teams have had a current franchise player though.
I do know if you tag the guy then sign him long term the franchise tag stays till the new season starts then the tag goes away and the team can tag someone else the next year.
