  • IFL Power Rankings, Week 4

These power rankings are the collaborative work of Cringer, Jeff, and MrBigglesworth. Each team is ranked #1-32 and given a point value on a sliding scale. The column labeled 'points' is the teams' cumulative total of those values and the column to the right of that is the highest of the three ranks. Do enjoy..

Great job guys. The Pirates have never been rated above 7 I think? It is still really early though. 3-0 is great but there are still 13 games to play. A whole hell of a lot will happen.

I keep dropping! ughhh... this was an embarrassing week for the Renegades. Not taking anything away from Fresno, but we really played a terrible offensive game. They were on top of their game defensively as well which was not a good combo.

Yeah, very frustrating week. Vermont will have a bye this sunday so hopefully Virgil will be back by next game. I'm so pissed off at the turnovers though... the score doesn't do Vermont any justice..

Newark jumps up 5 spots with a nice win over Tulsa.
It's gettin' crammed up near the top of the rankings.
Our bye will help us get healthy for our game against OAK.

great job again. A nice weekly feature that doesn't slide is always good!

VooDoo move up one spot from 12 to 11. I was just happy to get a win without Hairston. This week against Iowa City is going to be a tough task.

Dakota moves up to the top ten from 15. So why is it that everyone including me is expecting us to come back to earth this Sunday against Pittsburgh...Hmm... :?

Agreed. It will go down as the biggest victory in Power history, but 7 and maybe 14 of those points were just a result of Vermont taking risks to get back in the game.

I'm not so sure that that is the general consensus. For one thing, Dakota (as Fargo) outplayed us twice last year. I wish we could discuss the keys to the game, but I don't want to give anything away

I agree. Fargo might have played a little beyond their means last season, but at this point it is time to believe. BTW getting shut out 6-0 on the frozen tundra of Fargo prompted me to take this game more seriously. I am determined, if I can help it at all, not to let that happen again.

Oh and the concensus 32 I still cannot argue with as non of the Mules "imporvements" has translated onto the scoreboard at all. Some stastitical improvements, but the closest game of this young season was last weeks 14 point loss.

You three (Cringer, Jeff, and MrBigglesworth) are all pretty similar in your decision making (not that it's a good or bad thing). Only Albuquerque really has any fluctuation being at 24 with a high of 18.

And damn you Iowa City!! Lawrence has a higher "highest rating" and we got the momentum coming from the 19th spot. The tie should go to us and we should be at #14.

One thing that I thought was interesting is that Wichita got passed by Norfolk despite destroying Anchorage.

Also, I just wanted to point out that this is the first power ranking in the history of the IFL to have Pittsburgh ranked ahead of Madison 8)

                              Destroyed - 16 points?? Norfolk did beat a then 2-0 IWC team by 12. What's 12? A savage beating?

Wichita losing to Montreal at home is still fresh in my mind.
