Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 1	Julian Cartagena, QB, Columbia Fire
	Cartagena is a man who is on a mission. He sat most of last year and was bounced in the playoffs when he finally came back. Starting this season off was key to him to remind the league why he is considered argueably the leagues best QB. He hammered the Hellrider in week 1, getting 330 yards on 21 completions, with 3 TDs and 1 INT.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 1	Chris Razo, DE, Fresno Chaos
	Chaos fans must be going wild as their team got a big upset against the Matadors, their division rival. Razo was part of a destructive DE-duo who rubbed out the Matadors offense like a raging bull. Razo had 5 tackles, 2 assists, 2.5 sacks and 1 QB hurry.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 1	Mercury Halbert, WR/KR, Columbia Fire
	Not only had a fine day as a wide receiver for the Fire, but the #2 overall pick in the 2005 draft also made a huge impact in his first punt return. He took it back for 75 yards and a TD. On the receiving end, Halbert caught 5 receptions for 138 yrds.

Week 2

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 2	Kurt Bice, WR, Oakland Assassins
	A hard choice, in what could become a competition between Oakland and Salt Lake City players every week. Bice gets the nod with his 3 TD receptions on 7 catches, gaining 187 yards. Oakland QB Hamilton would have had a tough day with out Bice, who caught 7 of Hamilton's 17 receptions.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 2	Brian Cary, SLB, Norfolk Vipers
	Stepped up and had a very big game for the Vipers in a tough 16-13 win against Texas. Set a team record with 13 tackles, and had 1 assist. He also defended 1 pass and intercepted another.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 2	Jay Caro, QB, Portland Seals
	Has another fine game, although this time in a tough 24-21 loss to the Orlando Pirates. Passed for 286 yards, completing 28 passes in 37 attempts, a 75.6%. He had 1 TD and 0 INT's.

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 3	Rueben Sante, QB, Boston Dragons
	The best performance of his short career, Sante led the dragons to their first win of the season against the Mules. Despite a hard pass rush from the mule defense, Sante completed 64% of his passes for 297 yards, 3 TD's and 0 INT's. He also used his feet well, gaining 42 yards on the ground.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 3	Cletus Bodnar, MLB, Portand Seals
	Helped in the cooling off of the hot Lyman Shropshire, QB of Montreal. Bodnar had 10 tackles, 2 assists, 2 passes defended, and forced 1 fumble that was recovered by a teammate in Montreal territory and led to a Portland FG.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 3	Alan Crespo, RB, Newark Bulldogs
	Led all RB's in the league this week with 137 yards rushing on only 18 carries. After getting close n weeks one and two, this is Crespo's first Imperial League 100 yard rushing game. He also scored his first two touchdowns of his career, lifting the Bulldogs to a 20-13 win over Tulsa.

Week 4

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 4	Julian Cartagena, QB, Columbia Fire
	Cartagena is glad to be back in this spot for a second time this year. He helped the Fire bounce back from their loss last week with a huge game against the Ogres. Though only completing 24 of 42 passes, he did so for 380 yards and 5 TD's (tying an IFL record). He had no INT's as the Fire win 35-10.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 4	Steve Frausto, SS, Reno Wolfpack
	Although his team lost 26-20 to the Phantoms, no defensive player had a day like Frausto. For the second time this season he defended 5 passes, which is tied for the second most ever in a single Imperial League game. He also had 5 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 4	Stanley Jamison, RB, Hartford Grizzlies
	Helped the Grizzlies break into the win column for the first time this year, doing what he was drafted to do. He ran the ball 20 times for his first 100 yard game, gaining 102 yards.

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 5	Nigel Booker, QB, Salt Lake City Stallions
	Booker had a huge day against a good team, defeating the Lawrence Phantoms 38-14. Booker was impressive with his 5 TD passes and 342 yards, completing 15 of 30 pass attempts. He had 1 INT. This performance puts SLC at 3-2 and Booker 1st in the league in passing yards and TD passes.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 5	Jeffrey Totten, ILB, Montreal Firebirds
	The upstart Firebirds continue to impress, and good defensive play is one reason. They win a low scoring, close game against Houston, 13-10. Jeffrey Totten was the defensive leader as he piled up the stats. 11 tackles, 4 assists, 1 sack, 1 INT, and 2 Defn.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 5	Stanley Jamison, RB, Hartford Grizzlies
	For the second week in a row Jamison helps lead his team to a win, and wins this award. This week he gets 93 yards on22 carries, a 4.2 ypc, and ran one in for a TD. He also go this first reception of his career this week, one for 6 yards.

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 6	Virgil Sepulveda, QB,Vermont Mountaineers
	Sepulveda has perhaps a career day as his Mountaineers get a big win over Oakland, 37-7. Virgil, fresh off an injury, completes 21 of 32 passes for 248 yards. Most impressive was his 4 TD passes to 0 INTs. He also had 32 yards rushing.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 6	Arlen Weise, OLB,Albuquerque Matadors
	As the Matadors try to bounce back from their bad start, the defense has stepped up to lead the way. Weise gets 7 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks, 1 INT, and 1 Defn. This strong performance helped the Matadors get a shutout, defeating Boston 20-0.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 6	Alan Crespo, RB,Newark Bulldogs
	Crespo once again gets this award, as his team just falls short against powerhouse and division foe Orlando, 17-20. Crespo will be leading the Bulldogs to wins over the Pirates in years to come as he has more days like this. He gained 153 on 30 carries.

Week 7

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 7	Jacques Crosby, RB,Reno Wolfpack
	A strong performance from Crosby got the Wolfpack a big win over division leader Oakland, 24-21. Crosby had 107 yards on 19 carries, and punched it in for touchdowns 3 times. The win also gets the Wolfpack back to .500, snapping a 3 game losing streak.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 7	Shawn Hernandez, DE,Little Rock Toads
	The Toads needed someone on defense to make some plays after two straight 4th QT collapses. Hernandez came through with 7 tackles, 3 assists, 2.5 sacks, and an outstanding 8 QB hurries. The Toads snap a two game losing streak defeating Lansing 27-16.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 7	Will Irby, QB,Madison Demons
	With a completion percentage under 50%, Irby may be a bit of an odd choice at first glance. Irby played much better then that stat though. His 22 completions in 48 attempts got him 295 yards and 1 TD. He threw no INT's, and this led to his first victory over Demon nemisis Columbia.

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 8	David Sonnier, RB,Vermont Mountaineers
	With starting RB Morris Clay going out at the end of the 1st quarter with a herniated disk, back up Sonnier took his chance to shine and made the most of it. In what was Vermont's biggest game so far this year Sonnier stepped it up and ran for 151 yards on 22 carries, scoring 4 TD's. He also had 3 receptions for 10 yards.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 8	Gregory Avila, ILB,Madison Demons
	Avila chose a good time to have his best game of the year, against division leader Pittsburgh. One of the leagues best linebackers in past seasons, Avila showed he still has some game after 14 years. He had 9 tackles, 3 assists, 1 defn, 1 INT and2 forced fumbles.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 8	Bucky Beaver, RB, Fresno Chaos
	Though they lost this week to West Virginia, the Chaos did get a pretty nice performance from their young RB. Beaver rushed the ball 13 times for 89 yards, and scored his 3rd touchdown of his short career. He also had one reception for 3 yards.

Week 9

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 9	William Brown, RB, Norfolk Vipers
	Hello everybody, I am William Brown, and I am back in the lineup. After sitting several games due to injury, Brown steps in and has not missed a step. He domintaed the Boston Dragons, getting 144 yards on 20 carries and 1 TD. He also added 3 receptions for 20 yards and 1 more TD.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 9	Don Ferrell OLB, Iowa City Snipe Hunters
	The world of Imperial Football is changing when a Snipe Hunter is the Defensive Player of the Week. Ferrel more then earned it though, that is for sure. He had 5 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 Dfn. His key contribution though was he scored the only points of the game when he caused a fumble, then picked it up and returned it for a TD. IWC defeated Montreal 7-0.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 9	Todd Terrell, QB, Lansing Ogres
	While Madison's Will Irby has received most of the attention lately, the league was reminded this week that there is another promising rookie QB in the NFC North. Lansing's Terrell put together his best game yet as he completes 14 of 19 pass attempts, for 225 yards. He threw 3 TD's, and almost as important had no INT's. Lansing won 38-18 over Tulsa.

Week 10

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 10	Jullian Cartagena, QB,Columbia Fire
	Mr. Cartagena once again had a remarkable performance, as his Fire defeated division rivals Texas, 24-21. Cartagena threw for 390 yards, going 27-51 passing. He had a hand in all three of the Fire's touchdowns, passingfor two of them and running in the third one.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 10	Brett Bond,ILB,Louisiana VooDoo
	Bond led a stiff defense against the power running team Cleveland, helping the VooDoo to their 5th straight win, 14-13. Bond finished the day with 11 tackles, 1 assist, and sacks.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 10	James Herzog, ILB,Salt Lake City Stallions
	Although the usual candidates, Irby and Crespo, both had strong performances, it is Herzog who wins the award this week. He stepped up his game against a tough Vermont offense and helped hold them to 13 points. Herzog had 13 tackles,2 assists, and defended 3 passes.

Week 11

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 11	Shaun Schutz, RB,Lawrence Phantoms
	Withperhaps the NFC East division title on the line, Schutz had the best game of his Imperial League career. He had a personal best with 133 yards rushing on 28 carries, with 1 TD. He also added 5 receptions for 63 yards, with one reception for a TD. Lawrence defeated Orlando 35-7.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 11	Jeffrey Gregorio,OLB,Cleveland Clawz
	Gregorio's performance led a defensive performance that will long be remembered by division opponent Iowa City. With help from Gregorio's 9 tackles, 1 sack, and INT's, Cleveland was able to get only their third win of the year as they beat division leading IWC, 24-13.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 11	Everett Brazinski, DT,Oakland Assassins
	One of the highlights this week for an Oakland team that lost to division rival SLC. Brazinski has had to step up his level of play with several injuries around him. Against SLC he had his best game of the year with 5 tackles, 4 assists, 1 sack, and 1 blocked pass.

Week 12

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 12	Jacques Crosby, RB,Reno Wolfpack
	Reno wins their second straight road game, against a tough Louisiana VooDoo team, as they hand the game over to Crosby. Two rushing touchdowns, and one more receiving gave Crosby three of Reno's four touchdowns on the day. He finished with 21 carries for 173 yards rushing, and receptions for 6 yards.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 12	Edmund Peacock,DT,Lawrence Phantoms
	The Phantom defense was able to hold the Lynx to just 3 points, and Peacock led the way. He constantly disrupted plays from inside, racking up 8 tackles with 2 sacks. He also had 1 Blkd pass and 3 QB hurries.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 12	Daniel Laskanic, DE,Texas Hellriders
	Making his first ever start in the Imperial League, and only his 3 game overall, Laskanic made it a memorable one. 4 tackles with2 assists were complimented by sacks. This helped the Hellriders upset the West Virginia Beasts, 19-18, for their second win of the year.

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 13	Alan Crespo, RB,Newark Bulldogs
	The rookie back has laid claim to the best running back title in the Imperial League. He set single game records for carries (44) and rushing yards (298). He also scored the only Bulldog touchdown as his team goes on to defeat the Spirit, 13-10.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 13	Monte Cordoba,OLB,Tulsa Tornadoes
	After a five game losing streak, the Tornadoes are kicking up a storm as they get their second straight win. Defense has been key and Cordoba a big part of it. In a 24-16 win over Vancouver Cordoba had 6 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack, 4 QB hurries, 3 Defn, and 1 forced fumble.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 13	Will Irby, QB,Madison Demons
	With Crespo winning OPotW, this award goes to the next most impressive rookie this week. Irby once again raises the bar on what he can do this year. Madison shocks the Pirates as Irby leads an offensive assualt, winning 44-17. Irby posted personal highs with 26 completions, a 66.6 completion %, and 416 yards passing. He also threw for 3 TDs.

Week 14

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 14	Virgil Sepulveda, QB,Vermont Mountaineers
	Sepulveda led the 'Neers to another solid win, winning at Albuquerque 24-20. He went 22-36 for 277 yards, with 3 TD passes. He also had the offense moving with his feet, as he runs the ball 7 times for 49 yards. The win keeps Vermont in the middle of the tough NFC East race.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 14	Frank Wideman,DT,Little Rock Toads
	Frank Wideman helps the Toads bounce back from their loss last week to Vermont with a strong game. Wideman had 8 tackles with2 assists. He also added 2 sacks, raising his season total to 9. The Toadds defeated the Boston Dragons 27-20.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 14	Ken Richardson, WR,Pittsburgh Power
	First round draft pick Richardson finally makes the impact the Power had hoped he would. Though not starting this game, Richardson nearly doubled his receiving yards this year. He caught 5 of the 6 balls thrown his way, racking up 124 yards on the day. His season total is now at 279. He also added a tackle on special teams.

Week 15

Offensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 15	David Rodrigez, RB,Pittsburgh Power
	The Power take over first place of the NFC North as Rodrigez becomes the second back to rush for over 200 yards against Dakota in the last month. Rodrigez put up 201 yards on 27 carries, a 7.4 average. He added 1 TD to the 23-20 win.

Defensive Player of the Week - 2005, Week 15	Thomas Paul,ILB,West Virginia Beasts
	Making only his third start this season, nine year veteran Paul proved to be a major factor in a big game against division rival Norfolk. He had 7 tackles, 4 assists, and 3 Defn. His biggest play came in the early part of the 4th quarter though, when Norfolk was trying to drive down the field. He forced a fumble by Norfolk's Hackworth, and then recovered it, stopping the drive.

Rookie of the Week - 2005, Week 15	Joel Bradford, RB,Montreal Firebirds
	Bradford has become a big reason that Montreal has been able to fight back into the playoff race after a mid-season slump. Bradford did it again, leading the Firebirds to a victory of division leader IWC, 23-17. Bradford had 3 receptions for 39 yards. More important, he piled on 154 yards on the ground, carrying the ball 23 times. He had 2 rushing TDs.
