    http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...reenshots.html

I preordered for $30, but would definatly be interested in a multi player league as long as exports were kept too a minimum.

    Anyone. Anyone. Buller?

Beauty thing is if only 6 were interested then we could go with 6 and expand as necessary. At 1 game a week we should be able to blow thru 1 season every decade or so. In all seriousness I think most leagues play like a week per export making a season go about 24 exports. I have no clue how offseason is handled, but regardless the only multiplayer I would think about joining would be with the IFL as a core group. Could call it the IBL

I've always been interested in an OOTP counterpart to IFL, but I'm in two leagues already which may be my maximum.

i jumped on the $25 offer.

i love baseball..havent purchased the past 3 versions so i figure this is worth a shot after being away so long. a couple of the early versions were like crack to me, but the last version i owned (2007?) was way too laborious for me and all the MP leagues i joined were shit.

haha I just downloaded OOTP2007 since it was free. Now I see that they're not on the FOF every-3-5-years cycle and that software is actually 4 versions old!?!?!

i had a long post written but it got imed out .

                in summary: the owners!
why: 1. ootp is very customisable, but that could be a curse if the commish set the league settings up like shit
                2. trading is much more vital to baseball then football, and this carries over to ootp vs. fof
                3. contracts are guarnteed, if a terrible owner signs a bunch of terrible contracts and leaves the incoming owner is doomed.

definitly more things, these are just a few i came up with

*4. i put an asterik cause i think this is a matter of taste, but a good pace definitly key to any league.

Currently in 2 OOTP leagues ... one a fast sim (the season broken down into four 30 game sims) and one long sim ( 7 games per sim ). Both have MWF sims ... so it is more work than the IFL.

The commish is the secret to a good league as there is alot complexity to deal with especially if you try to customize the league. Both of my leagues are relegation leagues which means there are several independent mini leagues but within the structure of the main league. Teams are demoted and promoted to upper and lower tier leagues with the outcome of their season. Each mini league runs totally separate drafts but use a common free agency ... you get the picture, that there can be complexity especially with customization. Both are a lot of fun and I will say that the commish is the secret for smooth sailing.

I did one of these. Absolutely hated it. Too complex for me with a number of house rules, plus i was saddled with a shit team. Commish came off as kind of hardass, but in retrospect he probably had to be like that with such a complex setup.

A great concept, but not my cup of tea.

Definitely for me it has to do with commish consistency of sims and pace. I like an active website as well, that is easy to navigate and easy on the eyes. I wouldn't mind a 7 game, 1 week per sim league. 2 seasons per real calendar year...but that's way too slow for alot of people.

I've never been a fan of fast sims anywhere...I can't immerse myself at all.

I've got a few problems with baseball (from a simleague point of view), one being the long seasons. I too love the immersion I get with IFL, watching every game, but this is impossible to me with baseball's long season, since it would take ages to complete a season.

For an OOTP-league to appeal to me it would probably have to be a fast sim league, i.e. several games per sim, but at the same time not too many sims per week. This is what makes OOTP leagues tough to me. I want to have the cookie and still eat it. I want seasons to progress quickly, but I also want time to get to know my players and these two requests don't really gel..

sounds fun, but does sound like a lot of work.

Well I will probably just start a solo league in 1871 and go from there. Is the face maker thingy in sepia tone

Yeah...you're screwed. How bout sim one month every week : )

actually...the more I think about it that's not that bad. (most leagues sim one week 3x per week)....time would be in the same ball park...
