Fried CHicken

My wife made some fried chicken. Legs only. Mashed potatoes and corn. I made the gravy. Washed down with a tall, cold glass of milk. Man, Im full.

I cannot drink milk...I shudder to even think of drinking a glass of it to wash down anything...have to drink water just to rinse my mouth out from it.

I'm trying to figure out what meal to piece together from the food bank items I got Monday. Right now it's looking like peanut pad Thai sauce, canned chicken, and pasta.

Luckily I've now read tarcone's original post a few times and feel a little fuller. You make a good gravy... at least in my mind you do.

I can't believe how expensive hamburger helper is here in Seattle. For about $0.50 more I can make a legit meat sauce with peppers and onions.


Hamburger Helper and Tuna Helper were economical choices back East.

I do ok with the gravy. Still perfecting it. My kids love it and compare it to Grandmas (wifes mom) which I take as a huge compliment.

The left over grease from the fried chicken, flour, milk, salt and pepper. If you dont have enough leftover grease, use leftover bacon grease to get more gravy.

cook grease and flour, add milk. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir continually.
