Always have wanted to be part of a fun-filled baseball league. Time isn't going to allow me too though, so count me out. Everytime I think about adding something new to my slate, I can't help but think that it will just cause me to spend less time on IFL-related stuff - and I don't want that. My focus needs to be here, especially with the transition coming up soon.

Well, if this is an "IFL started" league, maybe we can have IFL member go immediately ahead of non-IFL members on the future waiting list???

But not 1st season IFL members, who could have theoretically just joined football to get into baseball.

I'd love to be a part of a small fictional OOTP-league, but I'm sort of with Jeff as well.. I love the IFL and it's my absolute priority, any other kind of simulated league is extra and will always take second place.

Sports Interactive/SEGA and OOTP have separated ways. Least surprising news ever.

I think once the final patch gets released, which should be very soon, that it will be a very playable game. There's no telling whether or not you'd like the game though. What floats my boat seems to sink your raft.

i have yet to fully get my money's worth out of an SI product. i just don't like soccer enough to play FM more than 2 seasons. sucks that you have to play out each and every game. a text sim should allow you to do just that - sim! i think it's best that SI just sticks to what they know - soccer games.

I think you hit the nail on the head both here and on FOFC HA. I was frustrated with the merger when it happened, and even though OOTP has developed into an interesting product, I find 6.5 a much tighter and easier to navigate piece of software.

OOTP 2K7 is huge, and they seem to have lost track of the essential day to day stuff in favor of some overwhelming once-per-season activity. I'm currently in a small 8-team fantasy OOTP-league with just a few friends, and some things are just frustrating as hell. What's with 5 different transaction reports? When I want to see transactions I've made, depending on which screen I'm at and press "Transactions", I can get to a screen allowing me to transfer players between leagues, or I might get an HTML-file with transactions for only my organization, or a list of major transactions for the entire league etc etc.. Not to mention the fact that I can't find a draftorder anywhere until the draft has started, and you can't get a complete draftorder until the first round is over. Etc etc..

Basically, OOTP 2K7 is an overwhelming product with lots of fantastic features, but also lacking several FUNDAMENTAL features.

I'm honestly not sure that it will go back to what it was, as Markus will be using the same codebase in the future, so it's all up to him to start focusing on the little things again rather than all these huge worldturning features.

By the way, the Solevision has made me realize that I get zero, zip, nada "feel" for a team unless I can follow play by play somehow, and OOTP makes that very difficult to do unless you've seen the score first, completely losing the feeling of actually watching a game.

Solevision isn't bad at all. i'm glad you can turn off win/loss records and scores so it's not spoiled. i'm supersticious when it comes to my team and i don't like knowing the score. i did great last season using gstelmak's viewer, that's the secret of how i was able to get a 10-6 record. my last two games i'vi'm 2-0 using Solevision. i'm not gonna mess with something if it ain't broke.
