The key to being able to drive team is being able to get along/work well with the guy who is your codriver. (Which is why I don't understand how guys can drive with their wives  ). The guy I drove with, we didn't know each other and just happened to get hired at the same time and they put us together. Shit worked out well there.

There were times over te years when I would have to drive with someone else for a week. One or two guys were ok, and a few others I wanted to kill by the end of the week. I had one guy who complained about any noise (radio, cb, the door being shut too hard), the guy was an asshole about everything.

P.Luxx - My codriver was Mexican, so kind of.

LOL! Well, Mexicans are generally good people to hang out with, so I'm not surprised you got along with him. (Is that racist?)

Not sure if it's the most PC sounding way to say something, but I don't think it's racist.

The guys I didn't like were mexican(-american) too, so it goes both ways just like with the whities or anyone.

          First night in Arkansas....

Shit is gonna be weird for a bit I am thinking. First off I flew in just 40 minutes before President Bush did, so I missed a clusterfuck there. Hotel shuttle picks me up, then a bit later 3 guys from my new company pick me up to take me out to the truck and work on the trailer some. I guess only one is going on my tour though.

So, the trailer is prety cool. Tech central for sure. The truck is going to be interesting. It has a big generator that hangs off the front, so sharp turns just got harder.

So far pretty cool though. Although I have been warned again things will get hectic over the next few days in a rush for this last second event added for this weekend.

I think I am pretty much a general laborer for the next few days too. I was tonight.

Day 2, mostly manual labor.

I spent a lot of the day hauling shit around (in my arms, not on a truck). Big rush to change out a lot of the computers and monitors on the trailer, so not being a tech guy I could only really assist. I did help with it some I guess. Mostly I cleaned out the belly bins on the trailer to start getting it organized for the tour. I also cleaned out 'my truck' and organized shit there some.

About the truck, it's a semi-automatic. I wasn't expecting that. Can't say I am real happy about it, but that's just because I have never driven one and it's now something else I have to learn. Driving the truck wasn't something I thought I would have to worry about. Oh well.

Tomorrow, more labor work. I and a couple other guys clean the trailer inside to make it spiffy for the weekend. It kind of sucks but has to be done. Thankfully it will really be the last day of this stuff and then we get into more normal stuff I am told. Everything is just a mess right now because of the rush to change things out and set up new things for this weekend. and not really for the tour.

My feet are numb, and my wife is super pissed at me for what I see is no f'n reason at all.

All in all, it was a pretty damn good day. (And no I am not being sarcastic)

                My feet hurt.

I started the day off with a mistake. I had to leave the hotel to work just before 7 am. So I woke up at 5am to work out. I shouldn't have done that I think. So I go to work, starting today is a big store set up for the whole weekend. We 'start' at noon, but have to set everything up. So being a newb, and a truck driver (as opposed to a 'Tech' or other position) I end up lugging around all these 50" TVs with my only my boss to help.

It was a nice warm morning, so I start to work up a sweat, a good size one. Then all of the sudden the tempature drops right when we are done and guys start to settle in to their normal jobs for the day. I get tent duty, and am standing outside freezing my ass off most the day.

If it hadn't of been for the cold it would have been a pretty damn cool day. It was still pretty good I guess. At the end I forgot about the cold some because I got to work in te truck for the XBox tournament and it has a nice heater.

Tomorrow I get to work the truck more, so even if it's cold I will be good. Toug thing is talking to people, since I don't really know much about what I am supposed to be showing them and talking to them about. I will learn though.

Tomorrow I don't start until 9, so only a 12 hour day instead of 14. That's nice. I hear tours are actually a lot better then this. I hope so, because this schedule for another 5 weeks would kill my feet. I am used to sitting all night driving. Standing and walking so much is just not right.

I work for a company that does tours all over, going to mainly schools and walmarts to educate about(and highly promote) some of the newest tech shit. I drive the truck, and get to learn about the other shit.

Shit, been a long time since I posted in this thing eh?

So end of my first tour. Tomorrow is my last day. We got to vegas last night about 1 am. Went to sleep though, right away, because I had to be up at 8am.

Tonight we are going out to wander around I guess. Our hotel is right acros from the Hard Rock Hotel, and right next to us, about 60 feet from my room, is Club Paradise. Supposed to be a fairly nice strip club. The cover is $20, so maybe yes, maybe no. I need to clean my memory free of the stripless strip club from a few days ago which had 98% ugly chicks and wouldn't let me in with my hat backwards and without patting me down. No cover though. :P

So, I will fill you guys in on all the job shit a few days after I get home I guess. Fly out of Vegas Christmas morning.

So I am home, since Christmas.

I told Jeff and Suicane this, and will let you guys in on this now. I was/still kind of am, considering quiting this job.

I love the job, and what I am doing out on tour. The problem is the company, and the fact that not all I was told before I got the job is exactly how things really are. It's a very young company, with a very bright future, especially after the last few weeks and something that was finally locked up for them. But it may be too much too fast.

The company is undermanned, and my time off is not supposed to be what they originally told me. I was told at least a couple of weeks between tours, and vacation. Turns out they expect both to be one and the same.

So for the last half of the tour I was debating coming back or not, and they knew this because i had told them. This actually got money talks going, and talks about time off going. Problem was is that they needed to know by Christmas if I was staying or not, because I was supposed to be on a tour which would have me going back to work by Jan. 4th.

Not really wanting to go back to Emerson, I told them I would come back for one more tour and see how things start to unfold. As luck would have it, my next tour got delayed until Feb. and I am home much longer then the 9 days I was supposed to be home. Not sure how much longer though.....

So that is what is going on.

The job is cool though, so this time off and one more tour are something I look forward to.

Don't make a hasty decision. As long as you're there you have the option to quit. Once you quit you might not have the option to go back.

Got my new schedule. I am home until Jan. 21st. Then since my tour got delayed I was put on one of the others....

I am supposed to be gone on tour about 12 weeks. Yikes. Not sure if that is going to work out real well.
