how much time is involved. I got OOTP6.5 - yeah I ponied up the extra $10 like a dummy

I enjoy IFL so much I would like to give OOTP a try, but it could not be time intensive.

6.5 not worth it? was thinking about upgrading tonight.

Actually I am not familiar enough with it to say that.

It was more of a bad joke than a useful assessment

I think the new version is coming out real soon, within a few months. You may want to just wait for that

yeah but its made by the guys who make the soccer manager series. they're getting a monopoly on the sports sims it seems. firs they took up ehm, now they've got ootp. i mean ehm is good and all, but it feels like a hockey game on a soccer engine. i imagine it'll be harder to make that soccer engine fit for baseball.

I think he tries to get a new version out by spring training every year, but last year he was busy completely re-writing the game for the new version 'OOTP2006' that he released some cheap 6.5 patch to tide people over.

I've heard other guys say that as well, but I've never understood their reasons for saying that. Why do you feel that way?

It just seems like some sort of a cop-out for guys who liked the regular EHM better.

I've been in a ootp league for 4 years now and we've simmed consistently since 1945. We are now in 1967. All fictional players. And all fictional cities. The commish is very consistent and we have some of the same guys that we started with. check it out at, www.bemont.net "Dog Days Baseball"

Wow, that looks real cool. 4 years is nuts, I like that. How fast does he sim games?

I hope to get in a league like that from the ground up, the only problem is you never know what leagues will be the consistent ones and one will bomb after a season or two.
