  • New to FOF7 and league play

Hi guys - complete noob here. Only had the game for a few weeks and I think by best season has been 9-6 in SP mode *blush*

Anyway, was just seeing if I can somehow 'spectate' this league for a while, hang out in the forums and just see what goes on and how things work. Don't want to rush this for fear of breaking rule or deadlines or just end up being a noob pain in the rear.

Can I download the publicly hosted files and poke around? Will that work? I notice html is also available.

Oh - and if I do decide I know enough to not ruin the rhythm - are there any spots left?

Last question - is everyone abandoning this league for FOF8?

    Cheers n beers.

    1) You are welcome to hang out in the forums and look at the HTML. We have plenty of noobs and pains in the ass. Honestly, the best way to learn is to just jump in. We have a good share of owners that miss deadlines too. It's not the end of the world.

    2) I rather not give out a team password without you being an owner. No real reason, but just join. We have spots open. :-) There are a few now, and probably a couple more after the roll-call.

    3) Yes, we are currently in the playoffs and will go to FOF8 at the end of the season. So looking at the FOF7 files wouldn't help that much anyway. We have like 2 rounds left and are going to 8. Get it! Join us!

Just to be clear, we aren't abandoning the league. Just converting it to FOF8.

I took over a bad franchise 2 seasons ago and ran it into the ground, and I'm still here, rebuilding and having fun. No shame in learning/improving. I say join up haha. But do what works.

I bought FOF7 and played a couple of seasons and I was a little bored. I suggested the game to friends who might be interested in the hopes of starting a league kind of thing. It didn't happen. When I saw an ad for owners, I answered it.
I took over a winning team and turned them into losers in one season. I know I made mistakes which was mostly not understanding game mechanic. FOF8 is much better and would be easier for me to guide the team in the direction I hoped it would go last season. In a nutshell, as long as you understand their is process and a mechanic and you are not bothered by losing to learn, then you should join in. The best part is the worse you do, the better the draft position. LOL

And I've been playing since real life 2005...and have yet to win an Imperial Bowl...sigh.

I've been playing for less than a year, already won a title, and am *the* model franchise. If you want to succeed, you'd be wise to follow my examples.

                  Argot,
Then you are the Imperial League version of the Philadelphia Eagles.

                  Joe,
Easy there, you don't want to later discover that you are the New York Jets of the Imperial League.
[Side note: Hopefully, if I get everything together, I can win by 2 not lose by 2 and do my part to keep you from getting to the bowl game again ]

Watch it! I grew up an hour from Philly and watching football is always a heart-wrenching experience..

However...the Eagles are better than us.

We are more like the Browns. We've been to the Conference Championship a couple of times...but have never tasted the Imperial Bowl.

That being said...My first FOF experience I won in my second year, then the league crumbled and I joined the IFL...I took the my CFL team to the Bowl two years ago...but I've never done it with this team...I'd fire myself if I could.

I don't know. I grew up a Saints fan; bleed Black and Gold. The team started play in 1967 and didn't have a winning season until 1987. We didn't play in the NFC Championship game until 2006. Then again, it could relative.
