The wheels are starting to get worn. It happened, but thankfully it is just a broken foot and not a knee. Winfred Hearon out for 5 weeks. We barely got the win but it was ugly. Miles threw 4 Int's and the offense looked pedestrian without Winfred "Blue" Hearon. Time to adapt!!

This ai injury bug that targets specific position groups on your team has got to stop. I now have two running backs on injured reserve. In another league, my linebacking corp has been decimated. I now have five quarterbacks because first and second string qb's were injured in the same game. This is frustrating.

But ...we beat New Orleans. Demon Deacons appeared to be running away with the division, but now St. Looey and Houston are mounting a challenge for the division title. I'd love to have those games back where I was playing a free agent scrub at qb. We were in those games, but barely lost.

        GG New Orleans!

We dispatch the Chaos, and our defense returns to form holding them to 200 total yards. The offense was not exactly lighting the world on fire as Barrett had an off day, and Hanks didn't run all that well. Kevin Petrolis however, continues to be a beast. His ratings are not great, but he continues to play better and better and every year. He is on pace to gain at least 1300 yards this year.

          gg Beast.

Wow for some reason i cannot find a way to defeat a single team in my division.... This game was horrible giving up sacks like candy on Halloween. It might be time for some younger players to get a shot!

GG Montreal. My team looked good for the first time in six weeks or so, which is surprising considering I lost my QB in the first quarter and best (only good) receiver in the second quarter. The win put me back in the thick of things, only one game back of a wildcard spot. Unfortunately, my starting QB is out a week or two and my WR is out seven weeks with a broken Fibula!

We probably won't be able to make the move up the standings with that situation, but it should give some additional experience to younger players and put us in a decent spot next season.

                GG Tulsa

This LRK team is driving me crazy. We had a huge day on offense generating 27 1st Downs and 568 yards at nearly 7 yards per play but our kicker was killing us. Misses from 53 and 42 yards were almost forgotten when we lined up for a 34 yard game-winning FG attempt with 3 seconds left in regulation. Of course K Mickey Mayer missed that one too.

So on to overtime and our defense plays it's best three series of the game (holding Tulsa to 13 yards in 13 plays) setting the scene for a ridiculous 59 yard FG attempt...which Mayer actually hits!

Crazy stuff and in spite of awful and inconsistent play and a 4-6 record we are still only one game behind Texas for the division lead.....

You heard cheering all the way from Arizona when this happened!

4-8-SLC25 (4Q: 02:00) Roger Westbrook punted 35 yards. Bert Levine returned the kick 60 yards for a TOUCHDOWN! Calgary 16, Salt Lake City 13
(4Q: 02:00) Extra point by Corwin Farmer was good. Calgary 17, Salt Lake City 13

Calgary is a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde kind of team.

I'm not sure what tie-breaking rules the game is using to put SLC and ARI in the playoffs over NWK, but I'll take it for now.

That return was a mood-killer indeed esp given how well our defense played. Our offense is just not sealing the deal this season--it's like Patterson is missing that 'swag' he had.

I'm going to have to get this running game going before we lose too much ground in the division and find ourselves out of the playoff hunt.

Screw this passing BS -- time to pound these backs and play defense.

GG Jeremy. I felt pretty good going into half tied at 6-6. I couldn't get any running room what so over and your team just took over in the second half. The punt return for a touchdown really nailed it home for you.

We were just as shocked as everyone else with our victory. There's enough of a glimpse of greatness with this team that we're hoping the makeover we need to become a playoff contender is fewer than the standard three years.

I was curious. Levine's punt return rating is zero.

I'm learning some things indeed -- that TC setting for ST matters; been debated by some gms publicly that you can skimp on the setting but I'm beginning to believe that you really can't...I've got data from 3 franchises that suggest not going with that hour will cost you at least 1-2 gms/season AND pretty much nerfs your ability to return punts/kickoffs and cover the opposing team's units. I won't be doing THAT again.
