Dude and he had to get 3rd party help for the artwork because his blew. I have been a supporter of this game since it first came out the first game on the yellow cd that he personally mailed out to you. But this is some bullshit. I really think I am not going to buy it. I heard this coaching draft blows too. What kind of sim has a coaching draft? smh. I vote the league stays with the current game until the OOTP developments team comes out with theirs and then we all check that out as a possible step forward. I feel like this is just a piss your money away to jim before he has to retire his game type deal.

Seriously I mean it let's fucking vote.

I vote we stay with the old game.

I know kobeck doesnt want to buy it. I know BOSS thinks the game is trash. I know I dont want to buy it. I know Jester is thinking about being done and he doesnt want to buy it.

just shaking my god damn head.

If you haven't bought this game yet, DON'T. I could kick myself for buying this crap. Just bought tonight and the first thing I said to myself was, "JIM JUST STOLE MY WALLET". Holy shit balls what a piece of shit.

Not trying to be funny here but that OOTP football game is probably better in ALPHA stage compared to this FOF7. I bought it to continue in Imperial, been here a long time. The money isn't a big deal to me, its just the feeling that I supported such garbage.

Maybe the game engine is better, I just got it so I can't comment on that part of the game yet. The coaching draft thing is beyond retarded. Like other people said, he didnt listen to the community on ideas to make the game better.

Even though I spent the money on the new game I would be ok with staying with the current game. Seriously!

I'm sure we're going to the new game but I hope its just until OOTP comes out with their game and then we can switch to that one, start a new league with all the people here.

I'm down with killing time in this until OOTP comes out. If not switching keeps more people in the league, I'd be for staying. Whatever works

                I bought OOTP15

they added 3D stadiums. Of course the community will have to carry that water, but you know they will.

I agree that from year to year OOTP is more evolutionary that revolutionary. But it is a solid BB simulator. Not perfect but solid

Jim is very good at making a football sim but doesnt have the resources to make a good one in this day and age. Why doesnt Jim talk with OOTP and see if he can be a part of their OOTP Football project as a lead on the project. OOTP would get a great mind in Jim and Jim would get the resources he needs to make something worth while and worth money.

... not trying to throw water on a parade that is already in the rain, but ...

I have to agree with the main jest of posts that are above. I did purchase the game and have been in a start-up league that uses the new release (I did this as a test run to see how I liked it). That league is now in week 5 and in all honesty, I am not having any fun at all and actually begin to get a headache every time I open those awful eye strain graphics.

With that said and with saddened thoughts, I am not inclined to continue further in the league. Continuing on the current version is not an answer for me either as I rexed every week this last season and in some cases didn't even do that. How in the hell did that merit getting to the NL Championship Game??? Just a sad state of affairs and sorry to see a good and very enjoyable tenure come to a close.

As a side note, I would be interested in seeing what OOTP comes up with. I am in a sim one-day-at-a-time baseball league and that experience is absolutely outstanding. The yearly upgrades have had improvements (not total rewrites) and that is what you would expect for a game that is already considered the gold standard for baseball sims.

Just my two cents ... r00k

I'm in the boat where I feel as though if enough people decide to upgrade and continue on, only then will I drop the money. If half the league bolts (or goes another direction), I may follow suit.

                        IMO

Jim has zero to offer OOTP concerning the football game

The things OOTP do best, customization ect., Jim is beyond horrid about. The thing Jim does best, realistic stat engine, OOTP is totally different about.

OOTP is using a physics based game engine.
Jim uses a stat based engine. That apparently needs exactly 32 teams with regimented roster requirements ect.

I admit I did not like the idea of physics based football sim - at first. Then I remembered FPSF. It was physics based and it rocked. With way more powerful computers and the path already broken, so to speak, I think the physics based could work. One thing it should allow is plenty of customization because ANY player should perform in a reasonable manner on any team because the engine does not have to have everything within a certain limited paramater.

Now I could be misreading OOTP BTS forum, but it appears faster players will move faster on the screen and not just randomly make plays from thin air. I mean I am typing while I think here but I definatly see where this could be a much more flexible game engine than Jims because adding a Clowney to your DL might make the difference you would expect, which is making the QB get rid of the ball at 2.8 seconds instead of his desired 3.0. Which makes the DBs better ect...

Clearly I have virtually zero idea how Jims game engine actually works.

But what I do know is having a more talented roster obviously dont mean as much as all the kumby-ya crap. See Fresno since I left. I mean that wizard that took them when I left scoured the IFL for 0 level dudes to make affenity matches and BOOM! the Warthogs were in the IFL bowl. Who has time to discect the moodrings of dudes who should be asking you 'paper or plastic?'

I will be curious to see Beyond the Sideline Football.

Francis already had an impressive football code foundation with an awesome 2D engine
A 2d engine? Are you kidding? OMG, yes, count me in for that! That has been one of my biggest gripes about FOF. As the years went by it just got more and more boring. There has to be SOMETHING to look forward to when your in rebuilding mode. Watching the new rookie get his first touchdown or sack, or your phenom quarterback throw his first touchdown.......thats a huge thing lacking in FOF. The text gamedays are lame.

Look at the Clawz - only 3 affinities and one conflict - no offensive affinities at all. So, I have to disagree with this part of your argument. I think Jim actually has things pretty well balanced between bars/coaching/gameplanning/affinities. Not saying it's perfect, but seems to work pretty doggone well.

had no idea we were this torn over switching , cool

I like the new game so far -- I've modded the UI so it looks the way I want it and I think the gp is actually better.

If we stay FOF2007 here I'm good with that too as I do miss the adjustments screens on offense
