I have a bad feeling that I'm going to want this season to go as fast as possible - but I'm cool with whatever.

IF we go the fast route and whacky shit happens are we gonna rewind the season? Do we even have the ability to do so?
Look at Strahan's sack record and the asterisk so many people put on it. What if the NFL had a strike year and all records were rewritten by shit-bum roster fillers? Sack record: 66 individual, Passing yards: 50,000 in one season, KR TDs: 120 in a season, etc.. It would make a useless joke of 100 years of stat keeping.
Right now the All-Time IFL records are offensively biased but nothing outlandish. My fear is the whole IFL history getting skewed because of non-patched FOF7 issues. I saw the screenshot of the WLB with 33 sacks in a season in 2K7. That would be 1/3rd of the All-Time IFL record in one season! Who knows what imbalances lie in the new code right now?

Did you mean FOF7? If you mean FOF2007, Then maybe this version would help that.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostI saw the screenshot of the WLB with 33 sacks in a season in 2K7.GM-Texas Trojans

I meant FOF 2007, which is the current .exe. "Maybe" this version will help, I'm not denying that possibility, but maybe it will destroy 10 real life years of cumulative joy all for the benefit of the risk of... ??? Something I just don't see so I'm trying to figure it out.Originally posted by TimG View PostDid you mean FOF7? If you mean FOF2007, Then maybe this version would help that.
Jumping into FOF7 seems eerily similar to jumping at that draft pick that looks shiny now but then you realize later that the wise looked at the bigger picture. If FOF7 is great then it will be great, maybe even greater at a later pace. If FOF7 sucks then it could all be avoided by those who chose patience.
FWIW - "FOF7" has shown me to be nothing more than a FOF 2K7 patch that requires $$ thrown down so I'm really torn as to why the push when I might not even be buying the game. What has improved $40 worth?

I gotta totally agree with Jester
I for one was unimpressed with the new feature list.
This should at worst have been a paid patch. Say $10
nobody would bitch at tossing Jim $10 but dang like $40 for not so much is out theresigpic

I pretty much disagree that this game is a patch. I think that there are some things that look similar that will help with transition, but overall everything under the hood is different.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostI meant FOF 2007, which is the current .exe. really the only issue i see us coming upon is handling the staff draft and the player draft. I'd prefer that there's a system in place for when we make the switch because i'm not really interested in forum drafts. they are sooo 2004.NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

Have to side with Matt on this and yet I can see what you're worried about Jester. To be perfectly honest however, the joy that the IFL brings me every Sunday is enough for me to be willing to shell out $35 to Jim every year if that was the case - even without a new version each time.
That said, I still think it's time for FOF7, even if it's "just" a patch in terms of the new features that you can see without knowing what all went in under the hood and the price is more than fair. Heck, it's three lunches for me..
Then there's all that's under the hood.. better end of game logic, end of half, the option of promoting assistant coaches to head coaches, the retaining of staff etc.. There's more but you can check FOFC.
Not to mention the most important part.. Jim has a great tradition of not only patching his games, but also adding little features throughout the lifecycle. Selling a new game means he's back into the mood of things and I expect at least 2 years or so of a very active Jim and that is also worth paying for.
Now.. if he'd only swallow his pride and ask for some help with the ghastly GUI and I'd be more than content.
P.S.
Jester, there is no hesitation. You're not quitting!

I am going to want to convert to 7 asap, so I'd be fine with a quicker schedule.
Even if we shoot down the idea of double weeks every week, we should certainly split the difference and increase the double weeks from 3 to 5-6.
Here is a suggestion for splitting. Keeps Dec slow (since Christmas/New Years), rips through Jan, Feb, but slows down a little toward the end of the season when people are pushing for playoffs.
