    10. - Briggs, Mark, WR, Penn State

I love the pick for Lansing. There's 1 bar on a WR that doesn't move and it's the Big Play Ability. Briggs might won't be one of the leagues top 5 WR but he's got pro bowl level talent a QB that can get him the ball.

Yeah they're almost the same player. Can't go wrong with LB from Iowa

Here's a picuture of the Carolina draft room celebrating the TE Wilburn selection. No doubt they're pumped to land a borderline top 5 player.

Here's some comments from Carolina GM Argot "We were continuing to look at Penny, but when we saw that Wilburn was dropping we started to salivate. Penny is going to be a good receiver for someone, but we needed someone in the elite category and who can bail out May if no one else can get open. May is taking too many sacks due to good coverage. Wilburn should be able to separate himself very well. We have some Receivers pegged for later rounds as well."

QS: If Wilburn wouldn't have been on the board, would you have taken Penny?

"I don't think so. While Lansing was picking we made a short list of three players. Wilburn of course was #1. We thought about even trading up to get him instead of allowing one of the other teams to get him. But we also saw Murray slip. And like I said before, we like a good linebacker when we see him. He would have been a great compliment to Falcone and would have shifted us into a 4-3 defense. The third player we had was Safety Fackleman. We loved his work out and he seemed to fit with our team. If we had a second round pick maybe we'd go back for him, but now we will just have to wait until the third round. It's ok though, we picked up Lynch for this second rounder so it kinda worked itself out."

Here's Chris Rex talking about passing on WR Mark Briggs

Q: I had you selecting the WR and you passed on him twice. Why weren't you sold on him? Was there anyone else you considered at 1.5?

A: Ehhh. He just seemed like he was late first round material, and I hate reaching. I'm a big fan of best player available... and a big fan of defense... probably to a fault. It wasn't worth it to me to 'settle' for a WR when I could grab what I HOPE can be a cornerstone of my defense for a long time. Besides, who the fuck is going to throw him the ball right now? I WANTED that first CB off the board, but was content to take our guy where we got him. Was toying with going with the TE at that pick...

kkiley on Hartford passing on the QBs

Q: So what turned you off about the QB's that went right after you? Personally i'm a little surprised they went so high but I'd like to here your comments

A: Exactly that. In my opinion, the QBs were not worth an early 1st. My plan was to try and slide into the late 1st if they were still available. I thought a 70ish rated LB was worth more than a 50ish rated QB.

                  11. - Manning, J.C., DT, Rutgers

Nice Pick for chicago who need help at DT and Oline. I had Manning going higher at one point in my mock draft. Red Agility score DT's are very nice to have.

                  12. - Wilburn, Cory, TE, Ohio State

My Favorite pick of the draft. Wilburn is going to be a big time playmaker in the passing game and will help in the running game as well.

                  13. - Grant, K.C., QB, Hawaii

K.C. Grant was the # 2 QB on my board and I had him closer to Barrett than the rest of the QB group. Solid pick here and I think Vermont is going to be happy.

                  14. - Crozier, Louis, QB, Stanford

This is higher than I had Louis Crozier going but he should be a decent QB but nothing special. Iowa City's only glaring need might have been at S and I could have seen CB being an option but signal caller it is.

                  15. - Murray, Scott, OLB, Southern California

No would have blinked if Murray went 5 or even 10 picks higher so there's some really good value here. I don't see size being an issue with Murray but he probably won't be able to be moved inside.

                  16. - Penny, Jessie, WR, Iowa State

Well I had ST picking a WR I just didn't antcipate Penny being the 2nd one off the board. Very solid pick and should start day 1.

                  17. - Fulcher, Aaron, DE, Wyoming

Fulcher is a nice all around DE. Apparently I forgot about Fulcher in my mock draft but I probably would have had him coming off the board right about now.

                  18. - Cole, Justin, OLB, Nebraska

Cole I had going at 1.11 so I think there's value here. Probably not going to play WLB for LR but still an all around LB and very good blitzing LB.

                  19. - Kramer, Billy, T, Southern California

blocking strength is overrated when you can effective run and pass block. Kramer doesn't have good strength but that shouldn't prevent him from being a solid starter.

                  20. - McGinn, William, S, Georgia Tech

Here's another mock draft pick we actually got right. Boss had talked about needing to grab a S and sure enough a very good one was there at 1.20 for the taking.
