conscriptor mock draft
1 - 1 (1) - WVA - DE Mickey O'Donnell - WVA could use a DE and Mickey O'Donnell would be hard to pass up here.
1 - 2 (2) - CHI - QB Don Barrett - Very tough one here. While CHI doesn't necessarily need a DT, it makes just as much sense to pick J.C. Manning
1 - 3 (3) - MTL - QB K.C. Grant - MTL might want WR Jessie Penny here.
1 - 4 (4) - LOU - OLB Phil Fordyce - Tough one here. While LOU doesn't necessarily need a RB, they could have easily gone with Roy Tietsworth
1 - 5 (5) - LRK - DT J.C. Manning - LRK needs a DT, and J.C. Manning is probably the most logical choice.
1 - 6 (6) - OAK - RB Roy Tietsworth - OAK needs a RB, and Roy Tietsworth is probably the most logical choice.
1 - 7 (7) - DAK - RB Alvin Slater - Alvin Slater might only be a slightly better pick than TE Cory Wilburn here, but DAK could go either way.
1 - 8 (8) - POR - DE Aaron Fulcher - Well, this is a toss-up. POR could use a RB as well, it wouldn't surprise me if they go with D.J. Wolf
1 - 9 (9) - HAR - OLB Justin Cole - Not sure what they'll do here. HAR could use a OLB; they might also consider Scott Murray
1 - 10 (10) - LAN - RB D.J. Wolf - Not sure here. LAN needs a TE as well, they could have easily gone with Cory Wilburn
1 - 11 (11) - CHI - T Albert Pelissier - Your guess is as good as mine. CHI could use a OLB as well, it makes just as much sense to pick Scott Murray

1 - 14 (14) - IWC - S Adam Shelton - Adam Shelton could be a better pick than QB Louis Crozier here, but IWC could go either way.
1 - 15 (15) - MTL - CB Mike Porter - Very difficult choice here. MTL could use a WR as well, it makes just as much sense to pick Mark Briggs

1 - 17 (17) - LAS - DE Alonzo Lucas - This was a tough one to call. LAS needs a OLB as well, they might also consider Scott Murray

1 - 30 (30) - LAW - ILB Travis Berkowich - Hard to know for sure what they'll do here. LAW could use a ILB; it makes just as much sense to pick Paul Bovee
1 - 31 (31) - GEO - C Damon Gilmore - This was a tough one to call. While GEO doesn't necessarily need a G, it makes just as much sense to pick Dwayne Roth

Let's let it play out. I really like MTLs chances of taking QB Grant at #3 OVR.

1. - Porter, Mike, CB, Michigan

This pick was a nice cruve ball from WV. Mike Porter will be a fantastic player so this isn't a screw up just a surprise.

2. - Barrett, Don, QB, Virginia Military

No surprise here. Chicago had their eyes on the signal caller from day one and he'll continue the rebuilding process and stabilize the QB position for chicago for a long time.

3. - O'Donnell, Mickey, DE, Michigan State

O'Donnell must have made a nice impression with someone within the Little Rock front office. They move up a couple spots to grab the #1 player my big board.

4. - Pelissier, Albert, T, Arizona State

There's only two T's on Louisiana rosters so there's no quesiton a need was there. Pelissier wasn't the #4 player on my board but he was just outside the top 10

5. - Lindsay, Kyle, CB, Ohio State

Another player I had going later that found his way into the top 5. I'm surprised that Montreal passed on the WR given their lack of talent there. Lindsay is going to be a good CB but I would have gone in a different direction.

6. - Shelton, Adam, S, Texas

Shelton is a can't miss prospect and we finally get another pick right. Great addition to an already solid defense being built in Oakland.

7. - Tietsworth, Roy, RB, Arizona State

I'll take half credit for this one. I had Dakota taking an offensive skill player just not this one. Tietsworth isn't going to dominated games by himself but still will be a very good everydown back.

8. - Slater, Alvin, RB, Virginia Tech

Another close call on the mock. We had Tietsworth falling one more spot. Slater reminds me of Georgia's RB Damon Beyer who had a fantastic rookie season. I don't expect Slater to match those numbers but he's on the short list for potential OROY's.

9. - Fordyce, Phil, OLB, Iowa

Another pick we get right. Fordyce is a playermaker and Hartford is excited by his addition. We'll have to wait and here why Fordyce was picked ahead of Scott Murray. The reality is I had both very close to each on the big board.

We had Lansing going DT but with two top talent offensive skill players available I see them going a different direction at this point.

Size. Murray is just so small at 5'9" and 221 lbs. The combines were comparable with Murray's being a little better but his size scared me away.
