I agree guys. Dollar per hour FOF wins hands down. The only other game I played this much was good old Front Page Sports Football. Loved that game.

Yeah, I'm being cheap - I know $30 isn't a big deal. I'm just kind of disappointed in the change-log.

Love the game and will buy the new one. Now with that being said, I still don’t see the new game being out anytime soon. I made some decisions this off season with the thought it would be the last season with the current game. Moving forward will go ahead and plan as if there is not going to be a change. An if there is, then great.

Like to see QB-Center fumbled exchanges.
... QB throwaways (not sure if "pressured into a bad throw" is actually this already)
... Long throws into soft pass coverage being about as effective as a punt provided the defensive talent is there
... Play-action and draws as options on the game-planning screen along with defensive aggressiveness adjustments to possibly play into the offense's hands on these plays.
... visuals for much more so we aren't guessing which side is the Strong Side, etc.
... and actual difference in defensive sets, not just the WLB becoming a DE and a DE becoming a DT when playing a "3-4".
... height/weight to matter on a play by play basis.
... endurance and other attributes should be able to be worked on by coaches.
... more leniency on weight changes, including the ability for all older players to gain weight and younger players to more easily keep it off.
... behind the scenes "practice time" to control what strategy options are available each game. You can't throw a play/style at your players during the game that they haven't practiced yet.
... feedback from players on their retirement plans ahead of time.

Yes, I agree with a lot of these. One of the things I really liked about the old college game Jim put out was that offensive coordinators came with expertise in a certain system. I won a national title running the Wing-T at the University of Idaho.Originally posted by JesterBlaze View PostLike to see QB-Center fumbled exchanges.

I was kind of hoping it might go that way this time with either specific systems or aspects of systems that coaches are strong and weak in (e.g. a particular defensive coordinator might get you a little more blitz effectiveness while a different guy might be better at stopping the run).
I guess we haven't really seen the changes he was talking about with the coaches yet, so maybe some of that will be incorporated.
One other thing I've always thought should be included is timeouts in situations other than the late-half and late-game situations (e.g. QB is confused on 3rd and 4 and has to call a timeout). These could be tied to QB intelligence, overall team intelligence of the players on the field and/or coordinator skill (my two cents).

Excellent post. Speaking of NCAA Football, I am bumbed that it is being discontinued. I have bought that game every year for the last several years. I think it's head and shoulders above Madden(I have tried to buy Madden a couple of times, but never ended up playing much).Originally posted by Coder View PostI disagree.
In 10 years I've spent $60 for a game I've played at least once a week (we've used two versions of FOF in the IFL). In the same timespan I've bought Madden four times, NCAA Football twice, MLB The Show twice. All in all, I've spent less time with all these games combined than I have with FOF and I've still paid more for them individually than I did for both FOFs combined.
If time spent with a game isn't what justifies an investment then I don't know what is.
FOF7 is an easy purchase for me.

That would be awesome.

edit - and by yep I of course mean I totally agree
If, I heard right, this is a new port so updating will be easier in the future. Take it with a grain of salt to what that means though...Hahahah

Speaking of FPS football, one thing I thought it did well was the play design screens - those provided a lot of customization but weren't really difficult to use. I reccall being a commish for a league of about 6 of us, carrying the floppy from house to house so we could load the league files on our Packard Bell and Gateways i286s and i386s - lol

I don't like the holding pattern we're currently in (or at least I am), but we committed to another second before 7, may as well do a regular pace.
(when I say holding pattern, it's hard to really make any long future plans without seeing how the conversion will take place. If they add new / remove some ratings to players, how will that translate to the conversion?)Steve Beans - Houston Renegades

well if the original Xfactor was retained on a player to player basis I guess it would all be fair. Otherwise total random, which would be unfair to more skilled players and a bounus for the bums, or asociated skill based which would be a bonus for skilled players and somewhat unfair to the bumssigpic
