Double Sim Week Discussion

I'm not miserable here at all. Just trying to come up with some ideas to make the league more fun again. We have long time owners who are on the verge of giving up on this game altogether. The game and the league are dying.

I was leaning that way myself, then I decided it was a game and I would not let it bother me.

If, IF - I Mean IF, Fresno ever does anything I gurantee I will have done it my way and not some formula.

There will be no additional double game weeks added, in fact it might even get reduced to 2 this season. Matt and I are both at a point where it's getting harder and harder to stay on top of things because of real life stuff. I have no desire to run a fast(er) paced league. I understand the views of those who want things to move faster but that's not what the league was founded on and it's not what either of us desire. Even if we did want it to move faster, it's just feasible.

I agree with everything you say here.

For me what would make the league more fun is if people actually wrote about their team. That was what made the IFL initially for me was the forums being our own "little ESPN" where I could go and read up on the league. I personally believe the games are run for us and the way we "pay" as GMs lucky enough to be in the league is to offer the other 31 some form of entertainment to read every once in a while.

It's ridiculous that Hoosier/Kobeck/ukpatfan/etc... do write ups that get a post from the usual 3-4 people yet any complaint thread gets 2-4 pages deep. Why do GMs only speak up on negative/controversial league debates? Why can't these same GMs be moved to tell me a little about their team.

I know once upon a time people liked the Championship Rings I was making. I don't know that I'd have the time to pump them out like I used to but I'd surely be moved to do more stuff like that if I didn't feel that I was 1 of only 5 who write/create.

I don't want this to sound like a vent so let me explicitly state this is just a calm post expressing that league media is what got me into the IFL and the lack of is what's killing it for me.

Well, that settles that haha. 2 works as well, makes it easier to keep track of. (I personally just hate missing the double week)

Yea but that doesn't help for people like me! I download the files, watch my loss then ragequit until about Saturday I guess it will be on me to check the forums on a more regular basis.

Speaking of, you're right about the media. I don't comment a lot but I do love the write-ups and may get a bit more involved myself.
