Mock Draft 1.1 - 1.6

1.1 Texas Dwayne Mathis WR ... This pick shouldn't surprise anyone and it shouldn't need explaining by me.

1.2 Newark Joel Simmons LT ... I'm sure the Bulldogs would like to move down here. 1.2 just isn't a great place to be if your DL isn't screaming for an upgrade. Newark has drafted in the first rd 9 times, 4 of them were OL. Simmons ain't sexy but he'll help more than anyone else on the board.

1.3 Reno Ron Cheung DE ... As disappointed as Texas and Newark must have been not see franchise QB's atop this board Reno must have been equally excited to see 3 great DL and the 3rd overall pick. The other DE could go here but lower volatility and all red combine scores give Cheung a slight edge in my book.

1.4 Chicago Randal Meyer DE ... CHI just shipped 3 DL to TEX. I do not believe this franchise was cutting away dead weight. I believe they covet DL and DB. Meyer (or Cheung or Cafferty) will be in Chicago.

1.5 Iowa City Ken Hilton OLB ... It is very possible IWC prefers a pass rushing DE to a pass rushing LBer and pulls the trigger on a trade with Newark here.

1.6 Little Rock ... guess I'll take the DT cuz I suck at drafting RB's and these guys all have warts.

Skip Banta (and another similar RB) gets my attention and IF he doesn't fumble then he should be a good pick in the 5-10 range.
