    When did the IFL form? Also some history

    I just realized that I've been part of the league for almost 7 years now, and checking the 'founders', people like Suicane registered for the forum in June 14th 2004. So does anyone know the exact date the league founded? Was it the 14th, 15th, etc? We should have some type of celebration of sorts every June 15th or so if that's the case.

    If anyone is wondering (since I'm looking), here are some of the original owners still active:

    Kobeck
    Vito
    Jester

    Then we had some time off, perhaps the league wasn't officially founded yet? Because there are other founders who joined about a month later..

    It looks like the league got going then with the initial draft, and some point during season 1, BOSS joined.

    I then joined sometime in season 2, followed by Coder, Argot, and David (iceman) who is still hanging around trying to get back in the league.

    Counting iceman, that's 14 people who have been around since very early in the league.

    Then you have the vets 4+ years old:

    Sorry, I went from asking exactly when the season formed (perhaps the date of the initial draft?) and I go listing all the owners. Just mind boggling how long the league has been around.

    I'm fairly certain the initial draft happened later in the summer, towards the end perhaps? Cause I was at the shore earlier in the day.

            Hmm, July 12th was on a Monday, so I assume the first week of the league was on July 11th. Is that a good date to use, or the initial draft date?

              Sounds cheesy but I didn't realize it's been nearly 7 years for me, and more than 7 for many people. I figure putting a date on it would be a cool thing.

              It's been a long time.. shit, you've lived in what, 4 states in that period? lol

                I think his June 27th prediction might be closer. We had an 11 round initial draft and a preseason before week 1.

                      Also for those who remember, these are the second forums we've used. I don't remember exactly when, but Cring switched us to this site some time after we began the league. Which is why you can't find any posts of the day we did the initial allocation draft.

                        I joined after week 1 games were simmed. the league wasn't full and I have been the only guy running this team after the initial draft...........which of course drafted me some 38 rated RT and pd him huge money. caused me some cap issues right away!

                          I was here for the draft, but was totally inexperienced. Bottom line REX drafted possibly the worst long term starting QB in IFL history Manuel Willoughby. Started the first 49 games ever for the Mules, then was benched for Otis "Opie" Peterson.

                            After like 2-3 seasons I wished we could have a do-over of the initial draft. I so badly wanted to put my stamp on it. Overall though, the guy who drafted the Renegades didn't do a bad job. Career ending injuries destroyed that team.
