I'm right on the Delaware but luckily I live on a hill overlooking the city.
The city itself got swamped pretty good, even though up here you couldn't even tell it had rained by Monday morning. And even though I'm on a hill pretty much everyone up here who has a basement got flooded. My cousin let her kids sleep in the basement Saturday night and luckily one them woke up in the middle night because he reached his arm out and the water was coming up. They lost everything in their furnished basement when their pump didn't work.
The only scare I had was when something fell on the roof and rolled over it, sounded like a fucking truck. A lot of the roads are still shut down and half my town is still out of power but not my half thank god.
I told Matt earlier I have a new respect with people who have to deal with this shit regularly. So much little shit you take for granted becomes huge after just a day without power or water. I spent about 60 hours without it and I was going nuts, I can't imagine having to deal with it for days or weeks or even months.
One other word of advice for future me. If this ever happens again, don't gorge on McChickens as soon as you get settled, you'll regret it.I luv British womenz.
