obiviously, the more home games you have (i.e. home playoff games) helps the revenue.

I disagree about SLC being the perfect case study for this. They did win a lot in the early years, but from that chart they only started making money when they were able to add better seats.

            2008 (11-5) -$89m
            Stadium Improvements
            2009 (11-5) +79m
            2010 (2-14) +97m
            2011 (2-14) +69m

Personally, I've been trying to add club seats to club seats and more luxury boxes nearly every single season since I've joined the league, and my public support for stadium has never increased, and I've been rejected every year.

Even if I sold out every game, I'm not sure it would cover my operating costs unless I pull a LRK or Orlando and go like 80m under the cap.

I think if the game was tweaked a little bit where it didn't take 15 years of straight winning to build fan loyalty, it may be easier to deal with finances. In 2008 I went 12-4, next season 11-5, and 10-6 after that, yet my attendance was lower than when I was winning like 5 games in 2004.

That bug is fixed in version 6.4. It will be interesting to see what SLC does next season.

Everyone loved the rule in the HFL. It added a little to this real boring part of the game.

Every year I try I always offer to pay 50%, but I have 0 public support for new projects so I'm always rejected. Maybe my offers are too much for one time, but I figure once you start a project, the cost to add seats isn't as high as just doing the project in general. Perhaps there is also some code in the game that prevents a stadium from getting a certain size and I always go over it, but that can't be the case since Portland has a 99k!?! stadium. My plan right now is to add about 10k club seats and 50 luxury seats.

My best guess with SLC and anyone else who gets it approved is that they had an old, lousy stadium which allowed them to have high public support for new projects.

Right now I'm the only team in the league with 0 club seats and that absolutely kills my revenue. Sure, winning fills the stands, but when you see shit like $116million just from Suites for Lawrence, you get a bit jealous come coach hiring time when you don't even have a chance to re-sign your own guys first.

I wasn't speaking about exploits. I was just talking about adding seats and charging more money.....or less money to get more people in.

Yup, so I'm screwed when my coaches become FA's again. I'm in favor of that rule for next season if we ever put it to a vote

On a stadium issue, I just wish I knew what I was doing wrong there.

I hope Ed Donaldson drops a turd so big that he clogs Fresnos pipes and ends up flooding their stadium, forcing them to practice at the local high school.

                                no worries, Tarc.

sorry about taking your coach. The best time to get a new coach is when yours is under contract. In this case, I felt the need for change. Gunn had been with us since 2010 and doesn't win in the playoffs.
Poston will hopefully change things. by no means is this saying the upgrade in coach was worth the after effects, but more so because we needed change.
