We win a meaningless game(Murfreesboro sat a good deal of his starters), and I was going to sit 6-7 guys but I have to admit as Matt pointed out I was close to 2 records. Wilson is having his best year yet and with a win next week vs Vancouver we will surpass our best regular season win/loss record in the history of the organization so I went ahead and started everyone and Wilson didn't disappoint having another outstanding game.
I want to point out again however, this win has an asterisk as this was not the real Mules team. Good luck in the playoffs Dthom, glad I didn't have to play ya at full strength haha.

I had a look at the playoff picture and there was no way I was going to get a bye, I would like to win next week to be the 3rd seed but not at the risk of important starters for the playoffs..

We had two chances to win that game in the 4th but couldn't get the job done.

At least we still control our own destiny. A win and we are in.

The problem is we have to play in Norfolk without our top 2 corner backs....

Warthogs take opening drive and actually do something with it. Drive stalls inside Bulldog 5 and Oksenberg hits a short FG. 3-0 Fresno Newarks methodical march towards the EZ was only slowed while they recovered their own fumble 7-3 Newark Any mistake by the Warthogs kills a drive. Foley in to punt after 2nd Schwartz INC. 2Q ends with score 7-3 Newark and Bulldos looking at 3rd and 3 from their own27

second march continues with Burger to Jamison 6 yard screen. Inc and rare negative run set up 3rd and 14 from Warthog 46
Edwin Beauchamp made an incredible move on Kennedy Marsh and is chasing the quarterback.
Burger throws an intermediate pass intended for Wide Receiver Jose Hoover.
Hoover makes the catch.
The pass is good for 21 yards before the receiver went out of bounds.
gonna be a day like that I can just tell - arrugh!. Hell even getting KRBs when Burger runs. Whats up with that??? Burger completes second March with 8 yard TD strike to Williams 14-3 Newark. Prestbye fumbles KR and Newark gobbles it up at Fresno 25. Mini march ends in 36 yard Schulz FG 17-3 Newark. Schwartz worked underneath against the Bulldogs and gets a TD strike to Gregson 17-10 Newark. Newark adds a FG on a penalty filled drive 20-10 Newark. Warthogs simpley cannont overcome any setbacks as a Penalty erases a gain to the Bulldog 29 instead Foley punted ball back to the Newark 6 where Burger takes over with just over a min left in the half. Newark attempted nothing and the half ends 20-10 Newark

after a FD Warthogs force a punt and Gregson returns it to the Fresno 29. For some insane reason Blevins is jammed between the tackles 3 straight times and Foley is in to punt and Newark fumble the punt, but of course get it back at their 23. Fresno forces another punt and take over at their 18 mid 3Q. After another Foley punt Newark has flipped the field and take over at their 46. Newark has to be unhappy settling for a short FG when a TD would have esentially ended the game. 23-10 Newark is how the quarted ends.

and the rash of Schwartz INCs commences. Foleys punt goes into EZ. Somehow Warthogs force a punt but take over at their own 15. Yet another Foley punt and Bulldogs ball their own 13 mid 4Q 23-10 Newark. Fresno forces 50 yard FGA but of course Schulz makes it and game effectivly over at 2 minute mark. 26-10 Bulldogs. Schwartz pick - of course.
They are keying heavily on the run.

Rambo is headed outside the left tackle.
Rambo is into the secondary.

72 plays to 48. 24 FDs to 15. 19 to 3 KRBs -2 TO ratio for Warthogs, but Bulldogs laid the ball down twice and got it back both times. 189 to 50 rushing yards. 3d coversions 7 to 3. Everything in favor of Newark. Clearly Newark is better than Fresno, but the drives were basically without big plays - 6, 8, 4, 8, 5 ect. Hard to understand whay my supposed brilliant HC could not get a handle around that. - Oh well good game Matt.

That was close this week but we got the win. Tulsa and Newark also won so there's still a lot to be decided next week.

gg vermont you really took it to us. We were pretty much done by the 4th. Wish I would of switched it back up on defense to combat short-passes but they are pretty much nerfed. I changed to more down-field passes on offense but we went deep over-board 99% of time. I think my qbs combined for 5 ints deep hahaha, I wanted a change but not by that much. The off ajustment and def screen needs to be overhauled or scrapped all together...end of rant.

I knew we couldn't compete against the big-boys in playoffs we've been fair candidates for one-and-done in the playoffs for awhile especially after all my old players were nerfed ratings wise...lol. Seriously though we aren't that far off we got some pieces, might have to overhaul the defense (and off ha!) next year or go back to the 3-4. Time to get trade happy during the off-season!!! hit me up guys...I need draft picks.
