Wilkins has a monster game in a close loss. GG Reno. I never expected to do much this year, but Wilkins is out stripping my expectations. He could have a 4000 yard rookie season. MLB Reilly is really having a sophomore slump. I need to get him more involved. I can't wait to get more talent on the O line and secondary and we may actually start to threaten.

A defensive battle for much of the game. The Voodoo had 4 picks and we didn't sniff the endzone until garbage time. Luckily the Clawz defense showed up by shutting them down on every drive, giving the offense plenty of chances and good field position.

Holy cow.great game in Newark today.

As I was preparing for this game, I thought to myself about what Jester is going to do on defense. First thing I always think of on Lawrence week. I'm guessing that he's going to think I'm going to run the ball. My first thought is to I "trick" him and try and pass on him. After much deliberation, I convince myself that I need to play "my" game in order to win. My passing attack isn't dynamic without the run game, and I don't think I want to rely on it against the Phantom D.

Game started off just as I'd hoped. Lawrence looking for the run, and Jamison getting yardage. Things went well for a while then I figured I was done. Shake and Bake were burning up my secondary at will. Oh, and don't forget Marty Silvan who caught what I was thinking was going to be the turning point of the game. Time running down in the 1st half and on 3rd and 15ish, catches a long bomb into double coverage. Thankfully we held them to a FG.

I feel really lucky once again to have won. This may change the landscape of the NC east for the rest of the season.

            4th play of the game:
Oakland's Warren Farley was hurt on the play.
I lose pretty much my team captain and most of my pass defense opening up the floodgates for a aerial onslaught.
I manage to keep chugging along what is suddenly a very competitive game and power our way to a 24-17 lead when..........
Oakland's Horace Donovan was hurt on the play. This appears to be a serious leg injury.
And that for all intents and purpose was the end. Vancouver goes on a tear scoring 21 unanswered points and the division lead.

I'd love to meet ya at full strength but GG Mark. The division is yours to lose now.

The Wichita players were itching to get into Montreal and were really up for giving the F-Birds their first defeat of the season.

Both teams were able to run the ball well whilst the two pass attacks struggled.
Some heavy hitting going on out there too with seven fumbles in the game.

In the end, Montreal got out in front and kept the Outlaws at arms length but it was a close game. Montreal winning 24-21.

Well played Chris, congrats on getting to 10-0.
Isn't it about now the pundits start talking about an unbeaten season?

Defense came up with two HUGE picks off of Caro. K Morris Lee should have been POTG as he tied it with a 52 yd. FG with under 30 seconds left and then won it with a 47 yd. FG in OT.

And now we have 4 straight on the road. Thanks schedule makers for that!

Interesting that my pass defense struggled so much after shutting the Texas passing game down in week one. We have some players that obvioiusly aren't ready to contribute positively yet. Harding gets pressured way too much. I'm going to have to fix the O-line this offseason. My backup center has been giving up sacks and hurries in droves.

It's nice to get a bye week. We need some key guys to get healthy.

                        GG Texas.

Special kudos to king for knocking off an undefeated. Always like to see our division do well vs. the others. You are have a great season and glad to see it until we meet again in the final week.

Huge game for you next week vs the dreaded Beasts.

Kobeck ... good game ... don't know whether to describe it as a defensive struggle or an offensive night mare. I prefer the latter - Cavazos with 3 ints, jeesh. Anyway, I am happy to take the W and run. Liking your QB. An upgrade at receiver will turn him into all-pro.

posession 1 - two drops stall Schwartz drive setting up Oksenberg FG
posession 2 - Chapman running backwards twice into run Ds set up 3rd and 14 check down for 3 to Chapman.
posession 3 - Chapman again forced to run into run D. Warthogs going for 4th and 2 from 37 instead of attempting 54 yarder - and Schwartz finds rookie WR Poston for the FD at the 26. Warthogs Winslett leads the way to a Warthog TD
Noticing the Snakes are running into Warthog pass Ds, but Warthogs are running into Viper Run Ds. I got a really good staff so I am finding this odd.
posession 4 - 3 and out running into run Ds and passing into pass Ds
posession 5 - starting from own 6 after 4 yard Ross punt return. 9 yard SAC set up bad Schwartz throw on 3rd and 17.
first flag of the day pins Snakes inside their 20. Snakes continue to run against pass Ds and pass against run Ds
posession 6 - Drive starts off with Snap running for 5 against run D - sheeze this is just odd. Again my staff is pretty good, actually one of the better staffs. second play was in INC agains pass D. Warthogs are 0-6 on third downs. On this the 6th 3rd down attempt Snakes were ONLY LOOKING FOR PASS and of course got pressure on the PASS attempt.
the Snakes continue to get their fortitutious playcalls as they gash the Warthog pass D inside the 2 minute mark. That is when they aren't completing long passes against the Fresno pass D.
posession 7 - plenty of time left for a couple of Schwartz incompletions into Snake pass D though
Game tied 10-10 at the half, but I really don't know what too make of it other than incredible bad Warthog playcalling. Apparently Norfolk knows what Warthogs are calling cause all the situations are breaking their way. incredible.

Second half starts with Snakes ignoring Warthog run D and jamming a FD aginst Fresno run D, well at least the coaches called the right D for once. 15 yard pass on 2nd and 12 against Fresno RUN D - WTF! Another big pass completion on third down against Fresno pass D. If it weren't for Cavazos forcing the ball into 3 INTs this game would be laughable.
posession 8 - Warthogs run twice into Snake run Ds setting up 3rd and 6 - Snakes ecpecting pass - Warthogs go screen and Chapman get the 6 yards for Fresnos first 3rd down conversion of game. Snap Chapman runs -2 yards against heavy run D on 1st down - this is just stupid. Snakes only looking for pass on 2nd and 12 and Warthogs accomodate with 6 yard checkdown. Norfolk only looking for pass on 3rd and 6, No doubt Fresno was be in a cover 4 here, and Schwartz avoids rush for second conversion of drive/game. Blevins for 3 against run D, TE Mitchell drops one against pass D, third and 7 snakes blitzing in 3 deep pass D - Snakes called for illegal contact, but they were in the perfect D. Snakes go pass D on 1st down, and Schwartz accomodates with 9 yard strike too Poston. 2nd and 1 and Snakes are in 3 deep Zone wxpecting a run and Schwartz, for once, goes aginst the Viper D and gets a 2 yard FD pass. 2nd and 4 Snakes are expecting pass, Chapman runs for -3 setting up 3rd and 7 from Viper 42. Warthogs in 1b formation, Snakes in nickle expecting pass - Incompletion with a pass defensed. At least Foley got an excellent punt too flip the field.
of course a 6 yard 1st down run against Warthog run D gets Snakes off the goalline. And 7 yard run against Fresno pass D on 2nd and 4 gives Viper 1D at the 14.
posession 9 - 2 Warthog runs into Viper run D sets up 3rd and 5 from Fresno 42 as the 3Q comes to an end in this 10-10 game. Norfolk only looking for pass play and Schwartz to Gregson for 4 is just about typical today. Foley unable to pin snakes deep with the punt.
posession 10 - 3 yard completion on third and 4 - of course.
slowley the Snakes are winning this field position battle as Fresno called for holding on PR and starts at own 10.
posession 11 - Fresno gets too midfield and the Vipers are familiar with that play, well no Fing kidding they have been familiar with every play all day long. Pass D defended Schwartz pass on thrid and 4. Foley's punt goes into EZ with 6:28 left in 10-10 game.
9 yard run against Warthog pass D, 19 yards running against Warthog run D and it is 1st and 10 at Norfolk at own 43 with 4:03 left. 57 yard TD pass against Fresno pass D with 51 YAC against cover 2 - of course.
posession 12 - Warthog ball down by 7 at own 26 with 3:36 left in a game that Norfolk is familiar with Schwartz passes - lookin' good. Chapman stoned at the LoS against heavy pass D and it is 2nd and 10 Warthogs at their own 42 at the 2 minute warning. Bad throw and Pass defensed sets up 4th and 10 Schwartz pressured into bad throw - of course.
see successful runs against run D to kill clock off comming. Snakes go 5 wide and Fresno in pass D and it is 1st down pass to effectively end the game. Somehow Snakes able to buen 3 seconds on -1 kneel down in backfield to end the game.
Pretty frustrating consistently being abused on playcalling all day long. Got beat by a QB with a 50 something passer rating, of course 17 of 35 on KRBs against Warthog pass D will allow that too happen. Its not like Norfolk is a great team, they were a 3 win team like Fresno. really dissapointed in FOF2k7 here, and I rarely go there.
