That was a crazy game. I was leading 27-20 with a minute left in the game and the ball on Fresnos 2 yard line. 4th down going to kick the FG. BLOCKED. And Fresno returns it 98 yards to tie it. Then we run a terrible 2 minute offense. Luckily we pull it out in OT.
3 more fumbles.
My FG kicker is 4 for 10 in the preseason.
Rookie DE Clarence Odumuyima has 3 tackes, 2.5 sacks, 3 hurries.

Ouch - things aren't looking too great in Vancouver. No TDs so far. Haven't had the INT problems some others have had - but 3 lost fumbles this week gives us pause for concern. Quite discouraged by the large cohesion hit we took all across the board this year. I somewhat understand a drop in the cohesion in 3 of the 4 positions since we lost our starting QB and had some retirements on the OL and secondary. But we took a 8 hit on the def. front without changing anything. I even kept the fading 12-yr vet.DE on the team just to prevent that. And I boosted the team function time in tc - but that didn't seem to do anything.
One final whine (yes, it's almost over) - finally took a look at the reg. season schedule - the schedule makers were on some powerful drugs when they made VAN play 6 out of 7 at home to start the season and 5 out of the last 6 games on the road!

So, defensively we should keep your offense in front of us.. bend, don't break, and force you to kick field goals.... hmmm sounds like the old Colts Cover 2 defensive scheme from last season....Originally posted by tarcone View PostThat was a crazy game. I had 2 last game vs oakland and 1 against me tonight. I can't remember the last time I seen a blocked FG. I think someone has to put in a bug report to Jim, the rate of blocked FG's is far too high. I also noticed another bug with 4th down, where can I send in the report to? Anyone know his email?Originally posted by Kobeck View PostFWIW thats the second Warthog Blocked FG in two games. I had a blocked FG against me in Week2 and blocked one in Week 3.. So yeah, there's definately an increase in blocked FGs judged by what you guys are saying.
My defense is struggling.. I'm mad. Offense was a little better tonight than last week, but I'm not certain how much that has to do with r00k using scrubs.

Regarding the blocked FGs: I wonder how much that has to do with scrubs playing. One of the things that's always bugged me about FOF is how a 20 OVR OLineman can go a season only giving up 15 sacks or so. I've seen players in the NFL give up 2 sacks and a QB hurry in 3 plays forcing the coach to IMMEDIATELY take the player out as he simply couldn't compete with the others on the field - same thing for blocked punts as one time I saw the same player block 2 and almost a 3rd in the same game going by the same guy on each play. I'd LOVE it if we had to start really paying attention to all the holes on our teams or risk actually paying for them in a realistic manner - such as falty OLinemen giving up blocked FGs and punts on the regular. I'm not saying at this point I believe the patch has it right but it's possible.
IMO a lot of stuff in the NFL doesn't happen (like blocked FGs every game) because coaches are smart enough to avoid it and when we play FOF we want that stuff to just not happen, with or without proper decisions from us.

there is no stat in the box score showing this, so it's likely hard to determine the frequency during testing.NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

Yeah, I posted it over at FOFC and Ben checked a couple leagues that the seasons were far into a season. There is nothing to it.Originally posted by Argot View Postwell..no fumbles or int's this week...so much for my patch fumble theory.
Which worries me because 9 fumbles in 2 games is a lot.IFL Champions-- 2016
