I was at a soccer game but followed the draft with my cellphone.. I was just about to pick Loupe with my third rounder when Matt snagged him.. so I had to go through the players on a 2" cellphone screen and pick what I hope is a half-ass backup tackle

I see LOU taking DOnnie Gerhardt, RT at pick 2.16 on the draft utility but Jake Germaine, RT in the game file... which is correct?

I actually have to agree. I think that was the smoothest draft we have ever done. Great job to all the owners and the league commish's.

Wish there could be some sort of extended time allowed when there is a run of picks - expecially early. I understand that the 4 hour window only requires checking in every well 4 hours, but we lost a good owner over this issue. Granted David probably had other things going on that made the decision easier for him but certainly having his early 1 auto picked was the straw that broke the camels back.

Worked out that Jeff came back so that part was good, but still it was David this year, has been me in the past, will be others in the future

No offense to David, but we had the schedule up for weeks, and he had a top 5 pick. Nothing the league did had anything to do with him missing his pick. I think his quitting had more to do with being angry at himself than anything else. I understand his frustration in the moment but to say that we should of done more or should do more to prevent human error is, I believe, wrong.

agree with you. Even the week delay should have highlited the draft start for everyone.

Still its hard when a run of picks goes by and an owner reasonably figures he has X time based upon recent draft pacing, and then wham he gets timed out on his pick.

Again I got no solution. I just think this situation, not necessarly David's, is harsh.

Still wish I had of just went too sleep on 1.3 and used my 4 hour window Friday morning. David was the owner I was waiting too hear from before I pulled the trigger. He was on the site thursday evening, thought he would check back in. Oh well ....

I was online when this happened. David freely admitted that he thought that the draft started on Sat and not on Fri. In his own words, "My BAD". He stated that the result of missing his pick screwed his rebuild plan and draft. He then formally quit on the forum. Later, when he wanted to reconsider, the team had already been given to new ownership.
