  • Week #12 Discussion

Well that just about wraps up our season.

A win and we are in a 3-way tie for 1st. Instead we lose to another sub. 500 team and have now lost 4 of 5.

    I hate this game.

Somebody please tell Fogarty this is the year of the QB because he is wasting the effort of the leagues best defense in terms of PPG allowed.

The injury to Alvin Mann hurt us a lot. He's not himself at all. I wanted to bench him this week but changed my mind at the last minute.

It's gonna be hard to make the playoffs with a win for Lansing and Madison

BK didn't partake of the pass-at-will free for all my secondary is offering this season and the Phantoms escape with a win while Newark shows signs of another late season collapse. Even with Pitt at 8-3 and staring at a couch seat for the NC post-season we've got a shot at a ticket yet...

Well, GG Sui. You did what everyone else did this year. Whopped my ass. I just don't know what else to say. I can't win. I don't know how, and I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Well, I got my first win with Georgia out of the way, albeit and ugly one. The gameplan didn't exactly go the way I planned.

Finally our defense showed up!!! This is what I think we have been capable of doing all year long, but it took until the 12th week of the season to do it. And the fact that we did it against Texas is all the sweeter.

We decided to give up on the 3-4 defense, going with the 4-3. This is the second game in the 4-3, but we made a couple defensive changes and we just exploded. We'll find out Sunday if this defense is for real or if this game was just a fluke.

Good game Texas. Good luck the rest of the year.

So I ramped up my D with some new found tweaks to get after the pass and screw up Sante. Sante has had over 100 ratings in every game he has played this year. We completely shut him down. He finished the game with a 69.5 rating.

The problem is we essentially forgot about the run. "Oh Snap" Chapman had his first 100 yard game of the year and notched two td's. I guess you can't have it all.

Our QB was pitiful throwing 3 picks and getting chased all over the turf. We got greased 20-10. In some weird way I am happy. The changes I made on D seemed to get me a tangible result. Now if I can figure out how to stop the run and generate an effecient pass attack we should be world beaters.

                GG HA.

Man oh man. Im not real sure what to make of this game.
Hartford QB Donnie Johnston had a strange game. 30/44 for 452 yards 3 TDs. The bad part of his game was the 5 interceptions he threw.
I got a TD on an interception return and a KO return. That was the difference in the game.
Hartford pressured the crap out of Sanford. But he has a great game anyway. 14/16 for 218 yards and 2 TDs. He had a 158.3 QB rating. Isnt that perfect?
DH had a decent game. 3 TDs, but too many negative rushes.

GG Hartford. I feel luck y to escape with that one.

Tied with Texas at 9-2 with a big game against Orlando in the rain coming up. Every game is important. My last 5 games are all tough. I could see ending the season 9-7 and missing the playoffs.

I think more likely is 13-3 and a bowl appearance.

We escape Iowa City with a 'W'. We become the 4th team to run the gauntlet in the IFL.

Normally, sitting at 9-2 i would feel rather good at our chances of going to the playoffs. Talk about pressure, we have Lansing and Penn just one game back at 8-3 in our own division. Then you have Texas and Tulsa at 9-2 in their division. The two Wild Card teams in the NC this year might have better records then the #1 seed in the AC. Go figure....

Quite possible that two teams with 11 wins might not make the playoffs in the NC.

Our next two games are @ home as they must be considered MUST wins. Our last 3 are on the road and that could hurt us.
