shouldn't we be picking for OAK now, he's been on the clock for like 20 hours.

With the 8th selection of the first round, the Hartford Grizzlies select Donnie Johnson, QB out of Michigan.

I was looking at some of the other positions and decided that if Johnson pans out, he is the only pick that makes sense here. The other positions I was looking at, I should be able to shore up later in the draft.

              2003 IFL AC East Runner-Up - Wildcard 10-6
              2004 IFL AC East Runner-UP - Wildcard - AC Runner-up 10-5-1
              2005 3rd Place AC East 6-10 2007 2nd Place AC East 8-8
              2006 3rd Place AC East 7-9 2008 2nd Place AC East 9-7
2009 1st Place AC East, Imperial Bowl Champions 13-3

You've always gotta go with a Johnson.

i hope McNeil doesn't bit me in the ass in the future, i liked his potential accuracy but his other intangibles were lacking (two minute offense, timing, etc). i went with Safety Rusty Shapiro to start shoring up my secondary. it's a start. too bad there weren't any good CBs in this draft like there was last year. the success of this draft will be who i get with my 3 2nd rounders. i'm already eyeing some potential Heroes.

That's a damn good pick right there. If my defensive line wasn't so weak he was tops on my draft board. It kills me to pick a safety that high though but I was thinking about putting him with Boyd and Doyle and daring teams to pass!! haha. But regardless of me missing my pick, that would have been my pick anyway. I need to produce some pressure on the quarterback and with picking up Carlson last year the Doyle pick was a no brainer. The ability to bring pressure on the QB from both sides of the ball is going to make life very hard on opposing offenses.

Props to you on the pick though. He is going to be a great player in this league.

his adjusted grade wasn't so high so i was nervous to pick a safety in the top 10 also, but he was definitiely a needed player at a position i desperately needed to infuse some young talent in. he's a long-term keeper for sure.

Shapiro was #1 on the TigerHawks list. But I didnt feel like giving the picks to trade up. So I traded for Vance to ease life in the SS position. I really like Shapiro, though.

that's why when i was in the chat room i said i wasn't interested in Shapiro, i didn't want you and Argot to get tempted to trade up to the #8 or #7 pick to aquired him. i figured if i didn't show any interest it'd be less likely someone would try to swoop in to snatch him up.

its a shame that in a draft with so many good DE's i didn't land any, but the good thing about having a bad team is you have so many holes to fill it doesn't matter what you wind up with cuz no matter who you select it's gonna be an instant help to your team. :dancemonkey:

Haha I feel your pain. Teams as bad as us can pick just about anyone and it's a huge upgrade!

If the draft gets rolling Ill be back around 10pm cst to make my pick.

How does autopick work? Does it make your pick right off the bat or does it wait till your allotted time is up?
