Phantoms retain all but one player. I'm very happy with our non-retirees! If Herman Almieda can give us a full solid season then the 4th I gave HA won't be so bad anymore.
Lozier ain't coming back with rebuilding in mind I'm sure.Originally posted by r00k View PostCould be the kiss of death ... have to decide on whether to try to compete for another year or face reality and commit to a rebuild.

Brian Dixon was expected really, the guy has been dropping off for a few years now. He held on long enough to gain the rushing title and obviously waited for Reno's Jacques Crosby to announce his retirement before making it final. Now Crosby can't regain the rushing title.Originally posted by Matt View PostHoly shizz.
Just noticed that RB Brian Dixon retired for the Toads. Shitty news Cring
Other retirements I had are as bad for me. CB Rodney Love who sat out most the season with his hamstring making him questionable. ILB Otis Shores isn't a huge deal. G Wilfredo Sheffield is up there with Dixon, fading star vet but was still effective. CB Leonard Wolcott, a pretty effective nickel/dime guy for years as well as my DB leader.
Later guys. Thanks for not taking CB Lindo, S Flaherty, MLB Cloninger, and the 4 of 5 WRs who are 10-12 year guys.
I also see these guys retired:
former Toad TE Joseph Flores
former ORL/PIT WR Dexter Edmonds
WR Boyce Groth
IWC RB Aubrey Beamer
WR Kraig Marasco
Rb Jacques Crosby as I mentioned above
LA MLB Augustine Murray
HOU Cb Garfield Rhodes
Longtime PIT RB David Rodrigez
and a lot of other familiar names from over the years that played smaller roles on teams.....My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

FUCK! DT Stewart Lundquist and original Hero - CB Darren Bruner - have retired. Lundquist never did put up the numbers he was known for in ANC, and he represents one of the last players i aquired under my "cohesion is meaningless, talent trumps all" mode of operating a team. since then we've put a premium on aquiring lots of valuable draft picks to aquire high round calibre players to keep on the team for a long time, and have drastically reduced the amount of blockbuster trades we pull off that never amounted to anything.
Bruner was unexpected, and another reminder that once a guy reaches his 10th year, every year after that could be his last year. i won't ever aquire someone who's a 10th year vet or older, and am considering not aquiring anyone who is older than an 8th year vet. i officially do not have a secondary going into this season. the good thing is that with all these holes on my defense, i can just pick Best Player Available. that's pretty easy.
