I knew my scout was a crack head, and though I have spent the last couple years trying to read through the BS he tells me I never had proof. My scout (poor with QBs and average with YONG PLAYERS) said the QB was very overrated. I thought it was BS and figured guys with good scouts would see a different comment, but I didn't think the complete end of the spectrum. The POOR with QBs is the problem, but I don't have much faith in the scout overall anyways which is why I tried to replace his ass this season.

Before the trade I was seriously considering picking him up. I knew Vito would pick Doyle so I was considering picking up Perkins and having him and Donovan duke it out to see who got the starting job. Then I could just trade the loser and be set. I am really impressed with Perkins. He reminds me a lot of Hamilton. I think he is the real deal.

I took Nathan Regalado late in the first round 4 seasons ago as the great Toad FB Heath Leigh was wrapping up his career. I didn't want to live without a FB. Leigh did it all, rush, catch, block, dry clean the coaches clothes. I have not used Regalado in the same way I used Leigh yet, but that is in part because Dixon has had some of his better years since he has been on the team.

FBs are one of my favorite players and see nothing wrong with using that pick on one as good as Smith. IIRC though, I did look into moving Regalado to the RB position when I drafted him. Even though his height and weight seemed ok to me it said they were too much, and he would take a large ratings hit. Regalado was not much different looking then Smith is now, good combine numbers though a little taller then Smith. You will find out I guess, but if it's down in the 60% ratings retained area I hope you don't kill a good player and just play the guy out of position.

I am wondering if DT Shane Donaldson didn't look so hot when scouted, he seems like the big slider so far to me.

FB-Smith at #10 could end up being the best RB in this draft. DT-Donaldson did not wow us and we could use a good DT.

My scouting staff who has been good in the past at evaluating RB talent and has had a very good past when looking at the rookie classes. The staff feels FB Smith may be overrated.

I had a bad experience in another league. I changed FB Keith Byars to RB and it killed him even thought it said he would keep 96% of his ratings. He was about 240lbs and 5'8". It did say he was heavy. But come on. Well within the limits for that position. He was rated 69/69 when I changed him and ended up 34/37 or so. The game gave him a 34/64 rating after I changed him and when simmed he came back at 34/37.I made him lose weight the next season and he dropped a few lbs. He still runs OK but I had hoped for more. On the other hand, I had to change RB Meggett to WR and he got better.(not alot) I use him all the time. Great hands and about a 65% Comp rate. Dont get me wrong, I dont do this at all unless I have to. vNFL House League is a 1 interm for every 4 games and you have to make roster changes due to injuries, so. The 3rd best(highest rated) RB Timmerman in this league is almost the spitting image of Terrell Smith size-wise. Terrell is also much stronger than almost all the guards and tackles in this draft. I feel good about this pick and what I gave up to move up.Only time will tell. Good luck with your guy Ellis.

Mine says As Scouted, though as I said above is average with young players. I think he will still make a damn good FB. I know once in a while a FB can convert to RB and turn out well, I have done it before (though not in 2007 I don't think). With that said, I doubt he will end up being a RB when all is said, at least not a good one. I think the ratings hit will make it a bad idea unless he ends up just being better suited for it then Regalado is. Playing at RB might not be so bad though, especially in the #2 role.

For as high as he was rated I was extremely unimpressed. Late first round at best. And I to am desperate for defensive lineman but no way is he even top 15 material.

I just checked Regalado right now. It says he would retain 64% of his ratings, and of course since he hasn't been playing there the experience hit would be huge. With the rookie you wouldn't have to worry about the experience much. Regalado is 5-11 and only 227 lbs.

Truth be said, I drafted him to make big holes in d-lines for RB Battles. No way i'm going to change his position. I will try him out of position running.

That's exactly what I would do. Keep him as a FB, but use him at RB occasionly.

Well then, I am a huge fan of the pick. I was joking in the chat room last night about guys taking him in the top 15 because I never thought anyone would. If I needed a FB then I would have done the same thing probably.

FBs make good backfield leaders too, which I bet Smith ends up being for you. Leigh was for me, and Regalado is now.

And they last forever! Look at Myer on my team. The guys rating have hardly changed in 10 years and he's NEVER hurt. I love Myer. Going to be hard to replace him.
