ooo...ooo..I got it...a 20-sided die...., I could get my Dungeons' and Dragons stuff back out from when I was a kid.

Let's see...Loyalty rating of 50...with a Play for winner score of 40...that and the stubborn negotiator of 96...I need an 18 "to hit" and have him stay with our team : )

perfect!!!! now you're on to it Argot. However, I think we should get out the percentile dice or the 100 sided dice for this one.

unfortunately you're not able to edit much in FOF like you can in OOTP. if this was OOTP it'd be really wide open. but i think the way it'd likely wind up being is we'd have to use what the player is asking for as a base (ultimately the player/AI needs to find the deal acceptable, not like we can magically edit player's contracts like you can in OOTP). no matter what the GM and the agent agreed on, it'd still have to be contingent on the player accepting the deal. what i'd be able to prevent would be a player giving the team a hometown discount. i'd ensure more quality and young FAs would excercise their right to test free agency.

i think it'd be really fun and different. so much that i'd be willing to give up my team. but it's likely too radicaly for some of the conservative people in this league, which is understandable. but it's nice to dream every once in a while.

I think this is a perfectly fine rule to implement here. I understand that we might not want to do it, but with the slow pace of the league we do need to have some mode of being able to improve a team quickly.

sorry to shoot down your D&D flashbacks but the Gygax dude just died...so the 20 sided and percentile rolls died with him...

i think he slipped on the 12 sided one and fell and landed on the four sided gizmo and impaled himself.

Rich was a CAP casualty in the sense that I traded him for something instead of letting him go for nothing in FA. Gallup seems to have been CAP relief for the draft but I am not positive. If this rule comes in there will be way more rent a players done in w5 just to get some compensation for a player.

And yeah starring and starting I am kinda interchanging here, but my point is Mules have not retained everyone they would have liked to have kept, and next year will be no different. Stowell in particular seems to not want to be in Murfreesboro and Hinson's demands will prove to be an issue which could force a trade at some point.

I guess my main gripe is this new found leaguewide love of UFA hurts Murfreesboro and a couple of other teams - WV - in particular. Not that I think this is the motive, but is defiantly an effect.

Would not the new emphasis on UFA water down the current emphasis on trading? Certainly drafting would no longer be as big of a deal.

In trading two owners have to reach agreement, but in UFA only one does. A case could definatly be made that UFA is no better game logic wise as contract negotiations are. Heck Mules have only really went after role players in FA, and still have basically been almost invisible.

Regardless I do appreciate all the effort that Jeff and the others put into the IFL. Just like family we really can't expect to agree on everything all the time here. We all like winning more than losing

On second thought on Gallup CAP seems to have been a secondary consideration as he was primarily moved to make room for Smith at MLB.

Added a poll for the renegotiation issue. Please vote or ask questions if you're unsure about something related to the issue at hand.

Couple more polls added. I'm not comfortable adding a poll for a new staff hiring rule yet. I don't think we've explored enough alternatives.

why don't you just make something up, like award staff members to teams in alphabetical order.

yA KNOW what sucks? theres no place in the game to go and find a coach's history. i cant be assed. it'd be nice if there was more available familiarity with the coaces and there legacys. just a general bitching from me.

I'm guessing you want more than this but if you didn't know we can currently click on a staff member, then click on "experience" and see that members coaching history as far as teams, wins, losses, and playoffs.

i knew that, but i wish there was a way to find out stats like"2008 - Offense: ranked 8th overall. Defense: ranked 28th"; "2009 - Offense: ranked 3rd overall. Defense: ranked 22th". then you can look at someon and say "this guy was an offensive guru, but he he could never get a good enough defense and that's why he never won the big one.

stuff like that. records in an of themselves don't really tell you much of a story.

Vote, vote, vote whoever hasn't. And if you want to make sure free agency blows and that everyone can keep their own players around forever vote no to the renegotiation rule poll.

                                thanks
