It's called a push.

I'm aware of what it's called. It's usually used in parlor/friend bets from what I've seen.

Of course I could be thinking of a day that's already gone by and I just haven't accepted the gambling I remember ("I believe I'm smarter than you and I'm willing to put money on it") has long been replaced ("I'm going to choose this square and put money on it knowing nothing about nothing but hoping that today's my lucky day" nervous giggle, clueless gigle).


But in case this starts to turn into a debate my point isn't that either way is right or wrong (it's up to the two sides making a wager agreement) but that this forum's default is probably just to not pay on ties.
