This game was over at the beginning of the second quarter. Some bad gameplanning on our part. Only handed the ball off 9 times and Portland sat back in pass coverage all day long. DT really relies on a running game to be effective. I knew that in pre-season...just forgot about it. I hate Jay Caro. Every time we stopped him, he came through on 3rd down no matter how many yards they needed...and it was almost always the EXACT yardage they needed. He's like Tom Brady. And numerous times I saw, Ramey and Montgomery chasing him in the pocket only for him to shake them off and complete a pass for a first down. ERRGGH!

gg LA. didnt gameplan for that much passing at all..and our D got burned.

I would've like to have seen a better start to Scott Scharf's Ogre career but at least hes taking heat off of Jarvis (9 rec 173 yards).

Next week will be a tough test against Vermont, especially with Isaac Edwards doubtful.

on a serious note the statlines were very similar for the teams...i thought i had a few more shitty penalties that were game changer types but the 6 sacks evened that out a bit...

            Smacked around Pittsburg 35-28.

            C.Richardson had a 33yd TD called back.
            L.Steiner had a interception returned 93 yards.
            Too many holding calls
Pass defense gave up too many big gains...

Other than that we led the whole game. They tried to come back but their effort fell short.

Gah! We suck on defense. Boy do we suck...

On the flip side, Jermaine Deboer caught 6 of the 7 balls thrown his way. That is encouraging for the rook.

Well there's no one that can convince me that 2K4 wasn't a "tie goes to the offense" game... or maybe even a "close goes to the offense" game.

I don't have enough data yet on 2k7 but if that's Jim's general thought then he probably hasn't changed it. I would put the onus on the offense to score, not the defense to stop them, in any game I made and that train of thought would always continue.

My favorite thing in football video games is to build a defensive powerhouse with a good QB. I've seen nothing to give me reason to try that in FOF. But if I'm wrong here please point me to a league where a team's done it successfully (4 or less losses in a decent division and playoff victories) as I'd like to check it out.

Ugly loss to Montreal! Our team just needs a bit time to jel, I think.

Yeah, I was pretty stoked about a 17-0 lead in the 1st quarter. Then I gave up 21 points in the 2nd quarter. Then I added 10 more of my own in the last 2 min of the half. This offense is dangerous and my defense is dangerously bad. Should make for an entertaining season.

Oh, GWB, I threw 5 INTs last week and only lost by a FG (and I missed the tying FG with 22 seconds left) so bleh!

No it changed with the patch one of them. Jim stated somewhere where stats would be inline with what we see today. We'd have numbers that would start looking like pass-happy nfl clubs today...ie Indy, NE, Cincy, Phoe, whoever else im forgetting.

Yea it was a decent game all around. I may have beat ya but last season my team would get behind and just start heaving the ball on every freeking down so I set the gameplanning to make sure we didn't panic when we got behind. It may have backfired this week as it appears my team didn't push the action at all. Regardless, great game Dberner!! May you pray you do not meet me when I finished rebuilding. I will return the favor 10 fold.
