Wow. I've been going with J(aaave). the whole time.Originally posted by Jave View PostJave is pronounced J(auuve) not J(aaave).
This reminds me of a Puerto Rican chick that I knew in college that called me "Yyyessster"
I'm not ashamed to say that she actually prostituted me to 2 of her hot friends. I didn't understand the reasoning and can remember my friend saying "You now what you're doing right? You're prostituting yourself!" and me saying "I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm getting paid $50 each to sleep with 2 girls that I'd otherwise be buying drinks for in order to sleep with them."

that he wasn't a good QB worthy of drafting in the 1st round?Originally posted by Jave View PostBut in all seriousness, you have to tell me what you were thinking by not selecting Dononvan?
over the long haul will he be better than Ike Jordan? that's very likely. is he better than Jordan right now? no. he'll need about a season or three perhaps to flesh out his ratings. so that means in about a season he may be up to Jordan's level. by that time another, more franchise-ish QB will likely will in the draft worthy of me taking. long and short of it is Donavan will never be as highly rated as Colella, so what would the point be to replace Colella with an inferior QB - i'm already doing that with Jordan and at least i don't need to wait for him to develop.
i wanted the WR Greene that LAW took. those 2 teams in front of me fucked me over by coming into the board at the wrong time, gave Jester enough of a chance to trade up one spot before me. i likely could've drafted Greene had hawkster not made that trade. i was trying to aquire hawkster's pick (one spot ahead of mine) but i really wasn't looking to give up too much to just move up one spot. i had 2nd thoughts about taking Chapman last nite when i was in bed. RB wasn't a dire need of mine, i could've made due with Larry Deason for one more year. now my cohesion is gonna be messed up since i lost Deason and Colella, i obviously upgraded my RB position but Chapman isn't anyone i couldn't have selected next year. my only hope is that i select someone really useful with the 2nd round pick i got for trading Deason. that'll determine just how well this trade was for me. but me aquiring Chapman seems a little too "rebuilding" for me, but i guess you have to replace an 11 yr vet RB at some point, and i likely wouldn't have been able to get a higher pick than a 2nd rounder for a 12th yr vet if i kept Deason one more year. now that i think about it i wasn't getting any bites at all for Deason, so maybe it was best i made the hard decision to draft his replacement now and get what i could for Deason.Last edited by Hell Atlantic; 12-09-2007, 10:55 AM.

Greene/Chapman were both targets worthy of trading up for I felt. Greene was a need for me and Chapman wasn't but switch the two needs and I'd have had no problem with Chapman at #13... however that being said I would've done all that I could to snag Mr. Osbourne before Montreal.Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View PostI had 2nd thoughts about taking Chapman last nite when i was in bed

Ok fair enough. My thinking has always been that if a guy that good falls to you, you have to take him. Yes, every year there will be good quarterbacks in the draft, but when one just falls into your lap like that, and in your case, Jordan was the only option, how can you pass him up?
When you are ready to upgrade your QB position, whats it going to cost you? Do you really want to trade up to get the guy, and how much is that going to cost you? You were sitting there with a great young QB on the draft board. Just shocked you didn't take him. But your a solid GM, I don't question your motivation, just an unusual decision.
By the way. keep up the good stuff. It's very entertaining while waiting for the draft. You stock went way up in my book the last week.:thewave:
