It has been decided that Heroes QB Dennis Colella's contract will be voided in tomorrow's sim (no sim tonight). In effect, this will make him a free agent available to offers in Friday's sim. In the interest of full disclosure I decided to make this a separate thread - no one can say they didn't know he was made available.

i think this is unnecessary. this is what happens when the commish not only owns a team, but owns a team in the same division as a team going through this. not saying i want to have Collela sneakily become a FA, but to make a huge announcement you're essentially saying "come one, come all, if you weren't following FA now then get on it before HA has a chance to reaquire Collela". why is Collela any different than the many stud players that have become available? you gonna make an announcement for every 80+ rated player who becomes a FA? that's bad form. it's bad enough i have to lose Collela, no need to basically email everyone about it.

Your underestimating the league bro. Every single owner in this league pays attention to whats going on and is highly active. Second of all, he is, by far, the best free agent to become available this year. In my opinion, it's jeffs job to alert the league to Colella becomming a free agent. If you want to resign him, then pony up the cash and do it. If not, don't complain when someone else signs him.Originally posted by Hell Atlantic View Posti think this is unnecessary. this is what happens when the commish not only owns a team, but owns a team in the same division as a team going through this. not saying i want to have Collela sneakily become a FA, but to make a huge announcement you're essentially saying "come one, come all, if you weren't following FA now then get on it before HA has a chance to reaquire Collela". why is Collela any different than the many stud players that have become available? you gonna make an announcement for every 80+ rated player who becomes a FA? that's bad form. it's bad enough i have to lose Collela, no need to basically email everyone about it.

not all of us can leave our teams and just hop on the next available team to have an uber stud QB. just saying. this is bad form and unprecedented. i guess you never had an in-division rival lose out on a stud QB before, and you want to make sure you can worry about one less team.
there have been a couple threads so far making it known i was having his contract voided, i don't see the need to throw a parade about it and basically do the work for less active GMs. if i was a less active GM i would say "well, i haven't been following the league the past day or so, but now that jeff has made it known there's a stud QB available i guess i might as well load up the game". this is bush league. i don't think anyone would say "no fair, no one made an announcement!". wouldn't that be the fault of the individual GM? i say you delete the thread and let the pieces fall where they will.Last edited by Hell Atlantic; 11-28-2007, 08:53 PM.

where is this stated? so is jeff going to do this all the time for every 80+ rated player, or just when he thinks it suits him? it's up the GM to follow the league, download the latest file and do his own homework. he's never done this before. he never said "Salt Lake City is grossly over the cap, everyone make lowball offers and rape Vito for all he's worth!!!". but if you did your homework, checked the cap situations of all the team and saw which ones needed to make payroll, you'd have seen that there was some great bargains to be had by trading with the Stallions. why now all of a sudden does the league need to be put on alert, especially when there's my other Collela thread AND the free agency thread? if someone was active even on a normal level they'd have known what's going on. why send out this huge message, trying to ensure there's as much competition for your in-division rival as possible? did he make a huge announcement when the Seals became available? did he say "there's a team with great cap room and the best player in the league open - speak now if you're interested in running that team".Last edited by Hell Atlantic; 11-28-2007, 08:57 PM.

how convenient.Originally posted by jeff View PostSeriously, you need to give it up. It's like you think I'm out to get you - so paranoid. I made this thread because this is unprecedented and warrants an official notice.

got no prob with that. i got a prob when the doctor never called anyone's wife before, and only now decided this is something he would do when it was convenient for him.Originally posted by Suicane View PostYou wanted the lapdance, now you have sores on your thigh, don't blame the doctor for calling your wife.
you can't out-analogy me. i'm a master at this stuff.

you can bet your ass i will be. i didn't say i wouldn't. i said i wouldn't offer him another contract next season and give him even more guaranteed money. why do you think i asked if i would get the "past injustices" prompt if i tried to offer him a deal as a FA?Originally posted by jeff View PostHow obvious is it that HA will be bidding on Colella?

there was stud players to be had on SLC and no announcement was made. there was DT Stewart Lundquist available last offseason. but now he decides for the sake of the league it's time to start announcing these things. i could have been a prick and said "i will not void his contract and i will not resign him to a new deal next year, and if jeff resigns him for me i'll leave the league and the next guy can worry about paying Collela $20million as a 14 yr vet and a $10million cap hit". i didn't. i made a hard choice. shit happens, no need to have Tom Brokaw tell you that on the evening news. this is bush league.Originally posted by Suicane View PostYeah, cause this happens all the time.
