Interesting fact:

WOW. How else would you say who the best linebacker of all time is?The NFL does not officially recognize the 'tackle' as an official statistic, and therefore does not track it.

if not the Hall of Fame how about a Foyer of Fame? I definately think some sort of system, even if less serious than the HoF, should be in place for those IFL pioneers who, like Aresnio Hall, shined so brite they burned out too soon. No Mule Allowed!sigpic

Flemming, at the time of his retirement, he was 2 KRBs ahead of Kao. Don't forget, Kao played another full season. Plus, he did it with far fewer KROs than Kao did. That is reflected in his Blk% though.Originally posted by Matt View Postare you talking about Flemming or Kao?
Still, any debate between Kao and Flemming is splitting hairs because they were the two best Ts of the first 6 years of the league.
Also, don't mistake what I am saying about the pioneers of the league vs. later players. Any rookie from 2003 is going to have different standards than a 6 year vet that made significant contributions prior to retiring. A guy that did it for one year isn't going to get in, but someone like Flemming should be in. The guys played 7 years, was on 5 All-Pro teams, and had more KRBs over his time in the league than any other player. Why shouldn't he be in? Someone with 4 or 5 great years is borderline, 6 might get in, etc.
I think we could put it up to a HoF committee to determine it. They come up with a slate and the owners vote for it. If the majority of the voting owners agree the player should be in, he goes in.
